The assumption is people won’t wait in lines on election day.

Bull.

If all voting is to be on one day then equal access to polling places should be the law.

No it doesn’t - you let the Democrats have every advantage of seeing where the turnout is and where they need to work on it, and remove said tool from the Republicans. It is only common sense that has put the GOP at a tremendous disadvantage - and of course the data also have proven this post elections.
Let the Democrats only use those turnout tools that are available in those jurisdictions while the GOP sits on their hands? Any close election swings to the Democrats. Common sense.

Not most - no. Only takes a very small handful to swing a close election, though. Why give the Democrats any advantage in those jurisdictions? You can never have a chance to change any laws if you aren't willing to go on the battlefield.

Indeed. People are responding to this as though Youngkin is advocating for changing laws. He is talking about dealing with the laws as they are and not given Democrats advantages.

We have to deal with things the way they are. Not how we fantasize them to be. Yet look at the responses.

Nonsense. Republicans deal with a fixed number of voters who each vote once. It makes little difference if they vote early or late. Democrats have ballots, which far exceed the number of their voters. They are already accumulating ballots which will be added to their votes at 3 am on election night after the early counts tell them how many they need to throw in the hopper to beat any Republican lead. This has been going on since 2018 and the Republicans haven’t done anything about it.

Just keep trying to explain away our side's lack of fight and just giving Democrats the advantage since 2018. They sat on their behinds and kept their wallets closed in 2018, 2020, 2022, and are doing so again in 2023. Probably will in 2024 as well...and just blame "fraud" for it all and GOPe PACs for their own lack of action. Whatever fraud their was does not account for our candidates not being funded and allowing our own candidates to be left twisting in the wind against a Democrat onslaught without being able to fight back - their voters open their wallets and make them flush with cash. The MAGA base even did this to Trump himself. There were multiple media outlets with Biden ads running regularly that had zero Trump ads responding. Biden defined himself with zero competing message. These ads were on the subchannels - which are individually lower rated stations, but collectively reach tens of millions of people - mostly older individuals - who are the most likely to vote. These ads were aired nationally on these stations. The data shows Biden significantly improved his standing over Hillary among senior white voters. The election was close enough in many states that this made all of the difference. Superior to inferior campaign operations are not caused by fraud.

I'm ok with early voting. I'm not ok with allowing continued voting after election day.

Two can play that game! Youngkin knows what he’s doing. Who would have thought a Republican could win in a state like Virginia?

The Democrats and their media might cry “Fraud!” Let them. Then they would be admitting voter fraud *can* and *does* happen. Their party line up until now has been, “It’s impossible to steal an election in this country! Trump is trying to overturn our democracy!”

So, for many, it’s ok if someone like Youngkin says this, but if Pres Trump brings it up....Nahhh!

https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2023/07/trump-backs-early-voting-says-its-still-election-rigging.html

It is rigging. Pure and simple. Fetterman had an over 900k vote lead going into election day, over Oz. Oz won election day voting. There was no way for Oz to overcome that gap.

Was any audit done on those 900k ballots? NOPE. Everyone of them allowed to count.
