As he makes his actions on January 6 the centerpiece of his campaign, Pence appears to have a different recollection than those of his top aides.
During last week’s GOP debate in Milwaukee, the former vice president forced his Republican opponents to thank him for allegedly saving the republic on January 6, 2021. “The American people deserve to know whether everyone on this stage agrees that I kept my oath to the Constitution that day,” Pence declared.
Unfortunately, the rest of the field complied. “Mike Pence stood for the Constitution and he deserves not grudging credit, he deserves our thanks as Americans,” former New Jersey governor Chris Christie fawned. Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) agreed that Pence “did the right thing.” Florida Governor Ron DeSantis admitted Pence “did his duty” and disclosed he has “no beef” with the former vice president.
In fact, the entire raison d'être for Pence’s candidacy is to give himself a national platform to brag about his self-proclaimed role in protecting the Constitution from Donald Trump’s plan to remain in power after the 2020 election. Pence, in Pence’s mind, is the hero to Trump’s villain.
But Pence appears to be rewriting the history of what he did on January 6. Contrary to his portrayal as one of the good guys on January 6, in reality, Pence is one of the bad guys.
He intentionally delayed release of a letter outlining why he did not have the authority to reject electors from contested states. Rather than publish the statement the day before or early on January 6, Pence made it public right before the joint session of Congress convened at 1:00 p.m. (He claimed Trump caused the delay since Pence wanted to wait until the president was done speaking at the Ellipse before sending the letter. Trump took the stage about an hour later than planned.)

Advice to Pence.
Slither away to a warm corner somewhere.
stay out of sight.
Speak no more.
Fade away in ignominy.
You deserve it Mike Pence.
And the Citizens of the United States of America deserve to be relieved of your memory!
Here’s a sentence from the Wikipedia entry on the “Electoral Count Act”
“Both houses could overrule the vice president’s decision to include or exclude votes, and under the Act even if the chambers disagree, the governor’s certification, not the vice president, broke the tie.”
Am thinking Trump knew something double plus ungood was up at the Capital that day and delayed his speech to throw off the baddies’ timing.
Is that language of post-Jan 6 vintage?
“During last week’s GOP debate in Milwaukee, the former vice president forced his Republican opponents to thank him for allegedly saving the republic on January 6, 2021. “The American people deserve to know whether everyone on this stage agrees that I kept my oath to the Constitution that day,” Pence declared.”
Trump made the right decision not to participate in this debate.
No red-blooded American man to whom Pence did what he did to Trump could be expected to put up with this preposterous punk nonsense.
Pence is a professional politician who has been plying the influence trade his entire adult life. But without an elected position, he has nothing to trade. He knows he’s not going to be president. Pence also knows that both IN senators Young and Braun have been in the US Senate a comparatively short time. Indiana’s current Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch (Who?) is running for governor in 2024. Those are three high-level elected positions for which Pence could be recruited if any of the candidates falter. He’s counting on at least one of them faltering so he can swoop in and save the day with his status as longtime IN public servant and his presidential candidacy name recognition.
Exactly !
Sadly so did DeSantis.
“Is that language of post-Jan 6 vintage?”
What I quoted is before.
In 2022 the “Electoral Count Reform and Presidential Transition Improvement Act of 2022” was passed. That act says clearly that the VP has no power to influence the vote counting.
Who do you think is most correct, Pence or Trump?
Pence at the federal level had the chance on Jan 6 to ignore the hysterics of Pelosi, Schumer and the Turtle and press the case against state-level POTUS electoral fraud.
Instead he went weak-kneed and is now licking the hands of his captors.
So.. Our system of checks and balances should never actually CHECK or BALANCE anything.
Why bother having him in the chain of events at all if all he is was a rubber stamp?
F**KING COWARD.
And I originally liked the guy before he was Trumps Veep choice. He finally showed his true metal... cheap tin.
He will always be a quisling, a coward, and a traitor in my view. I can’t stand to look at him.
Pens refused to launch an official challenge to the states c0ncerning the nomination of el;ectors. In doing so he usurped the whole legitimacy of an election, and brought a pretender into offoce , who is ruining America by disassembling it.
That is Pences fault.
I would not give him any slack on his treason to Trump and the People.
Pense wants to be a hero when in fact he was a traitor to nation.
Waste of skin.........
Pence’s whole sanctimonious schtick is a joke. The reason he refused to delay the certification or send it back was simple cowardice. He was afraid of getting prosecuted.
Bovine excrement.
He was doing the bidding of the Uni-Party, and it was all planned out. J6 “riots” was a set up to suppress the challenges of the vote counts and get an “emergency session” in place, which has different rules.
Benedict Pence played his part perfectly, as his paymasters had ordered him to.
He’s a traitor.
Pence also suffers from lefty projection, where they accuse Republican opponents of doing the crimes and sins that they are actually doing.
Absultively.
