Trump infighting risks rise as allies face legal bills, cash crunch
The Hill ^ | August 26, 2023 | Rebecca Beitsch and Brett Samuels

The multiplying charges brought against allies of former President Trump and their mounting legal fees are creating consternation in Trump world — while presenting a real risk to the former president.

Trump has burned through millions of dollars in donor money to pay for legal fees as he defends himself against charges in New York City, Florida, Georgia and Washington, D.C.

But the former president, who has built a reputation for stiffing workers, has shown no interest in providing financial aid to former aides charged over their efforts to keep him in power.

Former Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani has listed his Manhattan apartment for sale, and several Trump allies have launched crowdfunding campaigns to pay for their defenses.

Some of those who face charges in Georgia have been released on bond agreements totaling as much as $100,000.

The growing bills have already prompted complaints that Trump isn’t footing the bill.

“I was reliably informed Trump isn’t funding any of us who are indicted,” onetime Trump attorney Jenna Ellis wrote in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Would this change if he becomes the nominee? Why then, not now? I totally agree this has become a bigger principle than just one man. So why isn’t MAGA, Inc. funding everyone’s defense?”

As Trump’s aid to allies trickles, some warn failing to take on their legal bills could come back to haunt him if associates seek to cooperate with prosecutors.

So why hasn't Trump bailed this guy out yet, letting him sit in jail all weekend?

The “judge” did not set bail. Trump couldn’t bail him out if wanted to. The lousy judge said she was turning over to Judge McAffee who is on vacation and this poor guy rots in jail with no way out.

You seem to be uninformed. The democrat DA and democrat judges won’t let him post bond. They say the judge who does that is on vacation.

So why is Trump not paying for an attorney to appeal this judge’s ruling?

Well Rudy seemed pretty happy with the fund raising Trump is doing for all the defendants, on his radio show yesterday.

I guess Rudy’s lying and we need the Hill to set us straight.

The bond amounts of $100K is small potatoes compared to the attorney fees these poor slobs will have to come up with.

Their only recourse to escape a lengthy prison sentence is to throw Trump under the bus.

And since Trump owes many of them money....

Does it suck being an uninformed clown, that wants to do nothing more than try to throw shade on all things Pres Trump?

A miniscule amount of research would have showed what the others that responded to you as the truth. But NOPE, you can’t do that.

Anything to disparage Pres Trump.

I’m sure that whoever you support, all those in the single digits, are going to surge out of nowhere and win the day.

That is, unless your a supporter of CornPop, Harris or Newsome.

Trump can NOT bail him out BECAUSE the bastards did not set a bail, they wanted him to rot in jail BECAUSE he is black and left the plantation, worse than that he supports Trump!! If there was a bail Trump would have posted it already!! Greta VanSustren was on a TYRAID over this yesterday, the judge went away for the weekend and DELIBERATELY gave a bond for EVERYONE except this black man!! A warning to ANY black supporting Trump!!

The judge stated that one of the reasons she had denied bond to Floyd was that there was a pending case against him for allegedly assaulting a federal officer.

Doesn’t “denied bond” (in your link) mean he couldn’t even if he wanted to?

Trump can’t bail out co- defendants. That would be a violation of his bond agreement. I don’t think he is even allowed to talk to them.

Trump's not lifting a finger to help Harrison Floyd.

In an update to an earlier piece on Floyd being detained, news came down on Friday that the former Black Voices for Trump director who is one of former President Trump’s co-defendants in the Georgia election case, made his initial court appearance. He pointed out to an exceedingly unsympathetic Judge Emily Richardson that he could not afford exorbitant attorney fees, claiming that the lawyers he’d spoken to cost between $40,000 and $100,000, and “I can’t put my family in that kind of debt.”

Floyd told the judge that he had requested a public defender and was denied one. Richardson informed him that he didn’t qualify for one.

She coldly informed the defendant that Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee “will go through the process if you choose to represent yourself and to not retain a lawyer. He will go through that process and those questions with you.”

The snake that posted this article is a Trump-hating troll. He posts BS articles like this to demoralize and piss off Trump supporters. Don’t waste your time replying or trying to reason with him.

How much does he hate Trump? He boycotted this site from 2016-2020.
