“You all signed a pledge to support the eventual Republican nominee. If former President Trump is convicted in a court of law, would you still support him as your party’s choice? Please raise your hand if you would,” Bret Baier asked the eight candidates on the stage.
Anti-woke businessman Vivek Ramaswamy was the first candidate to raise his hand, followed by several others including former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum — an action which prompted cheers.
DeSantis could be seen glancing over toward Ramaswamy’s side of the debate stage and proceeded to raise his hand after four of his challengers already did. At that point, former Vice President Mike Pence raised his hand, followed by a hesitant former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. Hutchinson did not raise his hand.
Every candidate on stage except for Asa Hutchinson says that they would support Donald Trump in the general election, even if he was "convicted in a court of law."

“WOW – Ron had to check out the rest of the stage to decide whether or not to raise his hand. Pathetic!” Trump War Room exclaimed as others made similar observations.

That may be exactly what we are facing; at least we should recognize that strong, coordinated and seemingly uncontested efforts are being made in that direction. The question may be whether we have passed the tipping point.
OK, but the only response should have been, “Since all these charges are Banana Republic bogus charges being tried in Democrat kangaroo courts, OF COURSE I would grant him full clemency on every fraudulent conviction.
The actual responses by all were painful and infuriating.
Will no one stand up for Truth?
I would call the moment, sad.
“DeSantis Looks Around After Candidates Asked if They Would Support Trump if ‘Convicted in Court of Law’”
EXACTLY the same thing for Pence and Christie: they both waited to see who and how many others were going to raise their hands first ... quite the leaders, hey? ... the difference was that Pence barely stuck his hand up and then quickly pulled it back down, whereas Christie stuck his up pulled it down, waved it all around, and then denied he ever put it up ...
both Christie and Pence are the ultimate weasels and actually physically demonstrated that before the entire nation in real time ...
Christie was absolutely destroyed by Vivek, and Pence acted like he was an arrogant, mean, sour old man who wanted to be anywhere except on that stage because it was beneath him to have to share the stage with a bunch of other one percenters ...
Burgum looked like he was at a high school debate, and i couldn’t get past the fact that Hutchinson bore an uncanny resemblance to The Joker ...
Tim Scott mouthed a slew of RINO talking points as did Haley ...
overall, these debates are nothing but a meaningless clown-car side-show, because none of these one-percenters have a snowball’s chance in Hades of being the GOP nominee ...
i watched parts of the first debate just to see how it was going to go, but won’t be watching any of the rest because if you’ve seen one meaningless clown-car side-show, then you’ve seen ‘em all ...
For such a smart and accomplished man, he certainly doesn’t know how to read a room. His advisers are failing him miserably.
Yup!
One would think that a man who wrote a book on Courage, and promoted himself as a Special Eighth Day Creation Warrior would not have had to look around and get the permission of fellow debaters to know what to do.
I didn’t watch last night’s debate, but based on what I’ve read on FR this morning it sounds like FOX News viewers got a lesson in why that is the case.
“It’s almost a done deal with Dem run state legislatures like California.”
No it is not.
That is based on the insurrection language in the 14th amendment.
The trouble is that Trump has not been convicted of insurrection and won’t be.
Also, the language cites it applies to an officer of the United States, and Chief Justice Roberts has already ruled that the President of the United States is not an officer of the United States, he is an elected official.
Anyway, Trump will not be barred from any state ballot. Would not survive in court even if attempted.
I don’t think it matters what DeSantis really believes. His donors are who he has to please because they control the purse strings. They are so far removed from what the voters want anymore that it makes anyone they throw their money behind into a loser.
Miserable way to live at the whim of others.
Yep, he definitely appears to be another Romney.
The Democrats would convict a ham sandwich in a court of law if doing so would benefit them in some way.
Vivek, right away.
Exactly, these tricks are never used on the Rats. Repukes have no idea how to fight. Someone should have called out the bs question.
Ron DePathetic. 😏
The entire lot are a bunch of ladder climbers and Rinos all of them should have been dressed in yellow.
Correction:
Christie will remain at 2%-3% 2-3x102 lbs.
