Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy battled with CNN host Kaitlan Collins on her show Monday night after she aired a brief clip of him speaking about Taiwan.
"Guess what, we’ll put a gun in every Taiwanese household, train them how to use it, that is how you make Xi Jinping think twice," Ramaswamy said in a clip taken from a speech he gave in Iowa.
"Do you really think that would be a sufficient plan to deter a Chinese invasion, if it includes long-range missiles, ground troops, an aerial blockade, a naval blockade, all of the different measures here?" Collins asked Ramaswamy.

Not at all. Vivek tells us exactly what we want to hear. I really like almost everything that he says. Even the things I don't like still deserve serious consideration. Maybe he is right about them too.
And I don't believe he means a single word that he says.

If you watched “60 Minutes” thirty years ago, you saw what clever editing and one sided journalism can do to the foolish masses. I can’t stomach any major network interviews. Their platform. Their product. Their circus. Their monkeys.

He is missing the main point on Taiwan. It is not about chips. That is a red herring. China has been after Taiwan long before semiconductors. They want Taiwan as a permanent aircraft carrier in the China sea to control the worlds trade routes. Once they control that you will never have total independence from China. Even if the US has its own semiconductor plants, the essential raw materials have to come through those trade routes. If China controls those routes, they control your manufacturing.
