I thought I remembered talk in 1987-88 that the Democrat Party should push for Trump to be their candidate against George H. W. Bush.

Trump has always struck me as an old-school moderate Democrat- liberal on social issues, but strong on law-and-order and patriotism.

I left the GOP years ago but always Voted Republican because of your argument and the lesser of two evils argument. No more. No more votes for Rinos or Uni Party owned candidates for fear of the electricity being cut off. I vote America First candidates only. Damn the torpedoes........

She is correct, but this is not really news.
There are likely several traditional Democrats who are quietly realizing their Party has morphed and devolved into something they barely recognize. These people may be considering candidates not presently endorsed by Dem leadership. The Independent Party is full of such voters, ignored and disinfranchized by the Left.

Too bad you and others are too lazy to verify the crap you throw out there. You question everything Trump says, so I make sure to question everything that smells like BS that you, and others post.

I am well aware that one needs to get the majority of independents to win the White House. It’s simply good politics to win them over.

My problem with the GOP is that they stab us conservatives in the back and vote with the democrats, simply labeling it as bipartisanship.

The amount of money the GOP gives to the surrender monkeys in the House and Senate is appalling to me.

She’s trying to get more of our money, but won’t invest it in any MAGA candidates... and label it as a chance at winning over the moderates and independents.

I’m not buying it.

Found this article from 2016. It tells about Trump giving a speech at The Rotary Club in New Hampshire in 1987. He had been invited to speak by Mike Dunbar, an area Republican activist:

The True Story of Donald Trump’s First Campaign Speech—in 1987

Also, this NY Post article from February of this year reports that Doug Schoen, Trump's one-time pollster said:

"When I conducted Trump’s first private presidential poll in 1987, he was planning to run as a moderate independent, not the hard-right Republican he is today. He was once a registered Democrat.”

Donald Trump wanted to be president — in 1988, new book reveals

Like I told you before. You're a legend in your own mind, what little there is of it.

You can wave all those names around, but it doesn’t wipe out the fact that you said he was a life-long Democrat. And you were wrong. You ignore that, and throw out the fact that Trump donated to Democrats. He donated to plenty of politicians on both sides, because he was a businessman, doing business in this country and abroad. How many other businessmen, and companies have donated to both parties? But you want people to think that Trump was the only businessman that donated to Democrats before he ever entered the political ring. Pure biased BS.

I have zero respect for independent voters, the kind who couldn’t decide to vote for Trump or Clinton in 2016.

This is a numbers game:

There are simply not enough red-meat Republicans to get Trump elected.

Similarly, there aren’t enough leftists to get Bidet elected, prescinding from fraud.

Trump (and Reagan) won by appealing to AMERICANS.

And, sorry to say it, but Obama also softened his leftism to get re-elected. He did that against one of the weakest Republican candidates in generations, and STILL Obama had the smallest tipping point vote margin to win re-election in decades. He’d have lost without putting on his centrist mask.

Fair enough, Ronna…now… you have to answer just ONE question. How are you going to flip 38+ electoral votes?

We NEED Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arizona or some combo theirin.

And this is against the backdrop of mail-in voting, which isn't going away.

If neither Trump or whoever can tell us how the f he will flip these EC votes, he don't deserve the nomination.

Parenthetically, Ronna, stop with the histrionics. We need a tactical way to winning the EC vote.

Has this stupid cow mentioned anything about fixing the crooked elections which is why the GOP has been losing so badly?

I didn't think so.
