“Drifting”?? More like we’ve crossed that finish line already.
God can organize a disorganized herd, in a way that we can’t see at all what’s happening until the last moment. It’s not His primary purpose to save any nation, nor for us to have things go in a great way, temporally. He wants all to be saved through Christ. We have the freedom as His children to ask for Him to save our nation, too. Keep our eyes on Him through this whole thing.
My only objection to Gingrich’s comment is the word “drifting.”
We are not drifting toward this. We are on the edge of the cliff. We are at the precipice of a conflagration.
The Left cannot get their way or evil will devour everything in America. We patriots HAVE to stop them AT ALL COSTS.
There is no America with these people in charge.
Sadly, what is the alternative if matters can’t get settled fairly via the judicial system? It goes Balkan.
Newt is right, but he should focus his admonitions on his pals in the clueless GOP. But perhaps he knows that’s a waste of time and effort. If the GOP really cared that would have been evident long ago.

The GOP is afraid they will get blamed if they do something, anything. So they never do anything, they are frozen.
Not a fan of Newt, but he knows history, and DC. I think he is on the money here. The question is will the public allow this authoritarian regime unfettered control? I fear the answer is the Republic will go out with a whimper.

In fact, consider that, since one of the very few powers that the states have expressly constitutionally given to the big, bad federal government to dictate peacetime domestic policy is to run the US Mail Service (most federal domestic policy actually based on stolen state powers imo), the worst problem that the country would otherwise be looking at with a new Congress of Trump-supporting freshman lawmakers is arguably a delay with mail delivery.

Trump can endorse candidates from lists that patriots who respect the federal government's constitutionally limited powers provide for him, as long as candidates are not incumbents, candidates also promising to repeal the 16th (direct taxes) and 17th (popular voting for federal senators) Amendments after they win office.
The definition of insanity is reelecting your beloved career state and federal lawmakers and executives over and over again, expecting those same politicians to find remedies for unconstitutional government policies every time.
Patriots, let's not allow ourselves to be fooled for third time in 2024 by the corrupt, constitutionally undefined political parties that have pirated control of state and federal governments.
