Georgia grand jury hands up 10 indictments in Trump 2020 election investigation
New York Post ^ | August 14, 2024 | Samuel Chamberlain

The Georgia grand jury investigating former President Donald Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in the Peach State handed up 10 indictments Monday night.

After approximately 10 hours of hearing testimony and voting on potential charges, the bill was presented to Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney, who signed off on the charges shortly before 9 p.m.

Hours earlier, the court clerk’s office appeared to prematurely post the potential charges Trump was facing in the case.

The prematurely posted docket included 13 counts against the 77-year-old former president, including violation of the Peach State’s anti-racketeering law, conspiracy, false statements and asking a public official to violate their oath of office.

It was unclear when the actual indictment would be unsealed by the clerk’s office, nor was it immediately known whether Trump or his key allies like former Mayor Rudy Giuliani would be charged in the case.

You really need to take a timeout, get some fresh air, and take a few minutes to review Jim’s post several weeks ago before you comment further on Freepers. You are way out-of-line and over the top.

The list of presidential pardons exceed 10,000.
Check every pardon then get back to me.
I do not have time to research in excess of 10,000 pardons.

Or show me where in US constitution it says president can pardon only those convicted in federal courts. My understanding is constitution gives a wide authority to presidents to pardon anyone convicted.

If Trump never should be near the WH, which one of the other nominees do you think the media will leave alone.

It would be a blood bath for any of them, only worse, UNLESS
when the FIRST ATTACK AT THE REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT results in his resignation, because NO ONE is stronger than Trump.

Be prepared for loud, greasy, unhinged Rats to DO WHAT THEY DID TO TRUMP ...BECAUSE IT WORKED SO WELL

good luck

“Check every pardon then get back to me.”

What happened to the one commutation that you already cited?

You claimed it was a state crime but the first sentence of the Washington Post article shows that it was a federal case.

So which is it, was Mr. Ingram commuted for a federal or state conviction?

If one listens to Levin they’ll hear that Smith was sent to the ICC because he isn’t a good lawyer.

His cases have been overthrown because they’re way outside the left and right limits of Justice.

Smith is known for his “novel” interpretations of existing law. Meaning that he finds laws from over 100yrs ago, with no application to today and tries to use them.

Smith, et al better be doing the rain dance, every other kind of dance and praying to who they pray to, that Pres Trump doesn’t win in 2024.

Pres Trump is still getting my vote. I don’t care if he’s in a gulag in Siberia.

But…..asking a public official to violate their oath of office.

I’m pretty familiar with the OCGA. Can anyone cite me the code section for asking a public official to violate their oath of office? I’m not aware of one or did she manipulate the ‘conspiracy’ code section to manipulate the GJ.

They’re saying Fani Willis is right now cutting jokes about the indictments in a closed door room. Also they’re reporting that Fani Willis is going to create a narrative when she speaks that Trump was spearheading a criminal conspiracy called “The Enterprise” to overturn the election in Georgia.

Read US Constitution and show me where it says President can only pardon those convicted in federal courts.
When I had to study constitution before my naturalized citizenship, I recall what is said is president shall have the power to pardon anyone convicted.

She’ll try and get her 15 minutes tonight, but wonder how tattered it will be by the end of the week. And can Fulton Country residents afford the cost of this persecution?

https://www.justice.gov/pardon/frequently-asked-questions

Does the President have authority to grant clemency for a state conviction?
No. The President’s clemency power is conferred by Article II, Section 2, Clause 1 of the Constitution of the United States, which provides: “The President . . . shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offenses against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.” Thus, the President’s authority to grant clemency is limited to federal offenses and offenses prosecuted by the United States Attorney for the District of Columbia in the name of the United States in the D.C. Superior Court. An offense that violates a state law is not an offense against the United States. A person who wishes to seek a pardon or a commutation of sentence for a state offense should contact the authorities of the state in which the conviction occurred. Such state authorities are typically the Governor or a state board of pardons and/or paroles, if the state government has created such a board.

Best thing to do is read US Constitution. Because that is the crux of the issue.
