Justice Shrugged: The Persecution of Donald Trump COMMENTARY By Frank MieleAugust 14, 2023 Justice Shrugged: The Persecution of Donald TrumpAP Here’s what I dream of Donald Trump saying when he stands trial on bogus charges proffered by his political opponents: “I do not recognize this court’s right to try me … I do not recognize my action as a crime.”

Those are the fighting words of industrialist Hank Rearden when he was put on trial for ignoring an unjust law in Ayn Rand’s novel “Atlas Shrugged.” Although the circumstances of the cases differ, Rearden is a perfect avatar of Donald Trump, as both larger-than-life men are persecuted by the justice system for seeking to pursue their own self-interest and for refusing to surrender to government oppression.

Which POTUS was as successful as Trump? Look at what Trump accomplished:

  1. Gas price per gallon was about $2.30;
  2. Inflation about 1.4%, mortgage rates were half of what they are now;
  3. Unemployment was low before Covid and before Blue Governors shut everything down and we were in the midst of a V-shape recovery until January 22, 2021;
  4. Tax decrease; tax laws promoted small businesses as well as large;
  5. US enjoyed energy independence - No Green Agenda, no war on energy, No Paris Treaty;
  6. No war in Ukraine, no threat of nuclear war, NATO paid its way;
  7. China was quiet and we were winning the trade war;
  8. US companies were bringing home the jobs due to well executed tax treatments;
  9. Peace in the Middle East aka Abraham Accords; US Embassy moved to Jerusalem; and Iran was isolated.
  10. Got three non-left “I don't know what a woman is” Supreme Court Justices on the bench allowing Roe vs Wade to be overturned.

Who the heck can accomplish the above in four years while being impeached twice and investigated by Obama's Weaponized Agencies?

LOL at your sad, weak, and now disoriented responses. Trump needs to act like a real operator, who’s in control of his faculties, and capable of actually making, and executing, an efficient plan for success. Think Jack Ryan, or James Bond from the movies. Instead, he comes off like that self absorbed freak in Wolf of Wall Street.

The Swamp is co owned by your Republican party...

Trump infiltrated it to infiltrate the swamp.

DeJeb doesn’t have a mandate to obliterate the Derp State and Swamp.

Trump does. Since,it appears,from 2015 when they began their operations against him..

When DeJeb gets the Trump treatment from your swamp, if ever,I will feel sorry for him.

But then I will recall that Trump has been attacked since 2015 for just wanting to Make America Great Again by the co owned swamp

And since they haven’t killed their public enemy number one yet, I’ll stand with him against your swamp..

He’s proven to be an enemy to my enemies.

And a lot of those have R’s next to their names

You can try to point to Trump as superior to Republicans in that regard, but the facts don’t bear that out. He approved all the swamp budgets, and made the most horrible swamp appointments imaginable to lead his own cabinet.

You mentioned McCain. Trump endorsed him for Senate his last term.

You mentioned Romney. Trump endorsed him President, AND endorsed him for his current Senate term!

Our current FBI director? Trump appointee.

Our current chairman of the joint chiefs of staff? Trump appointee.

Mitch McConnell as Senate leader. Trump endorsed him too.

Speaker of the House McCarthy? Trump endorsed.

Chairperson of the RNC? Trump appointed and endorsed.

So you see, quite clearly, this superiority of Trump from top swamp Republicans is just a figment of your imagination.

A good argument could actually be made, that without Trump’s support, none of them would even be in those positrons of power!!!

If you won’t stand against persecutions just because you don’t support the victim then nothing you say otherwise means a damned thing.

I support Trump in these court cases, I just disagreed with the poster who said “Trump is our last hope.” As I said I’ll never believe anyone who plays golf almost every day our last hope for America.

I also disagreed with the poster who said Trump was far different than the Republican swamp members, when Trump either endorsed or appointed basically every one of them.

You can take their side on those opinions, if you want. But as far as me wanting Trump to win his cases, I do. I just think he needs to clean up his act and actually try to win them, not act like a wild eyed crazy person that needs to be in jail. Because that’s what would have already happened if he wasn’t the former President. They’ve already asked for no bail, not held him overnight, nothing like that which is typical for felonies.

There’s lots of people starting to believe Trump actually WANTS to be detained, the way he keeps denigrating the judges. Some think it would increase his polls, and his fundraising, and he wouldn’t even half to worry about getting out on the road and campaigning. He could just sit at home at Mar-a-Lago and maybe coast to a win in the primary.

I don’t know if I’d go that far, but I don’t believe half of what we EVER see is 100% real, either.

Fabulous column.

I hope DJT does as Hank Rearden and poetically flips off the Chutkin K-Court and jury.

“ There will be blood!”

Well, it’s an absolute truth that you can’t vote your way out of fascism.

So there’ll need to be another method.

Trump endorsed Republicans in the Senate?
While he was President?

That’s a shocker.

Shocker Mitt vs Obama and Trump endorsed the swampy Mitt.
What a swamper Trump is with that call..

Who did you put your support behind with McCain and Romney?

As for Wray, even your Dejeb approved of him and there was firings at the FBI while Trump and Wray were there..

As for anything to do with the US military and Trump, I’d say if Trump ‘caught the swamp’, he didn’t do it alone..
That takes military planning and precision.

As for Mitch, he’s exactly where I’d want him if I was Trump.

Same with McCarthy

Same with the RNC

Mitch,McCarthy and Romney are Trump endorsed and at the very bright lights of Swamp activity in DC and in the RNC..

They absolutely have the ability to be swampy.
And Trump has allowed them that opportunity to go either way.I dont see Trump endorsing McCain or Romney for President or Senate as being a traitor to MAGA..
And certainly can’t be accused of being a traitor to the GOP or RNC..

Again, this isn’t Trump’s swamp.
He infitrated it through one of the co owned swamp parties..

MAGA is still a minority in the swamp as their numbers grow in the R team..

And it’s an R team that also co owns the swamp.
Something MAGA can’t be accused of yet..

But you’re trying to...
