The Department of Justice is shelling out more than $6 billion to private companies to manage its asset forfeiture investigations, raising alarm from one nonprofit law firm that accuses police of "treating ordinary Americans like ATMs" and seizing their cash.

"You've probably heard the adage, 'You've gotta spend money to make money.' Here, it's 'You've gotta spend money to take money,'" said Dan Alban, head of the Institute for Justice's National Initiative to End Forfeiture.

They will say, soon, that if you are a conservative and you espouse those principles on the internet, they will bankrupt you.

We don’t work for them.

They work for us.

They better start remembering that while things are still civil.

Yeah, and they want us to buy EVs so they can use their batteries for grid storage and let their immigrants live in our houses.

Asset forfeiture was meant to prevent drug lords from using drug money to buy their way out of their indictments. It is being used to legally steal property from good people.

And bad people. And in between people.

No matter.

You should not be able to take anything from someone without arresting and charging them. You should not be able to keep it without convicting them.

This is the DC game and the sooner people wake up to it the sooner they can either demand changes or just accept that the DC beltway can siphon off the wealth of the nation. There is a reason the wealth in DC continues to grow and grow and grow.

Here is how the game works from what I can see....

You have the connected who “retire” from their agency and if they are second tier they can get an easy gig being a “contractor” with their former agency or another and that is what is being funded here.

The first tier “senior executives” get the big paying think tank or board positions where they get paid big salaries for no-show jobs where they do nothing more than a few conference calls, drum up government contracts for the company, and go to 5-star resorts or restaurants for semi-annual “board meetings”.

However, it is even worse. Beginning during the Obama years, as exposed by Glenn Beck back when he had his show on CNN, the DOJ began to get big settlements from the “too big to fail banks” like Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Chase, JP Morgan, etc etc. DOJ would “wink wink - nod nod” charge them with some offense that defrauded consumers of a small amount of money. The big bank “agree” to pay a few billion in fines (the consumers never get paid back) and that money goes into the asset forfeiture fund for DOJ.

DOJ then uses this money to provide grants to “activists groups” in the name of social or climate justice or other left-wing causes here and abroad. These groups are the Acorns and the group like the one Gateway Pundit just reported on “registering voters” in Michigan.

It’s just a big game. The “contractors” are probably peanuts next to the left wing groups being funded.

See post above - drug dealers or little people are a drop in the buck for seizures next to the big banks who “willingly” settle with DOJ and pay massive fines. Little wonder they get free money from the Fed that they can make a few points on in the market is it?

The pay-off is to corruptocrats via this fund and those corruptocrats can then use that money to fund left-wing causes.

Oh sure.

But that does not mean it is ok for the police to stop you for speeding, decide that they "smell mary-ja-wana" search your car and then clean out your wallet saying you have to "prove" your cash is honest.

They do that.

Occasionally they take enough and the person is ticked enough to fight back and after a mountain of legal bills they get some of the money back.

But worse is when they tell you that you are going to sign the money over to them or else. They have told parents that they will lose custody of their children is they do not sign the few thousand dollars in cash they are carrying over.

It is not the amount of money, it is the fricking abuse.

I am not disagreeing with you, just pointing out that all of these left-wing activists groups pulling shenanigans here and abroad are getting funding from the same “asset forfeiture” piggybank. Lots and lots of funding in far larger amounts than the stories you hear about that rile people up.

The big banks and Fortune 500 companies are where the real money is at. We are talking “billions” and they keep hiring more and more former government employees, er contractors, every year. They seem to be in on it too.... all that “quantitative easing” where the Fed gave them billions and billions at almost zero interest for a decade plus made a lot of money in the market so if they have to “give” a little back its still a good deal for them - my kids and yours? Not so much.

Also if you make a deposit of more than 10 grand in small increments over time or one lump sum the bank reports you to the IRS, also supposedly put in place for drug trafficking, BS What ever is being done, said or passed as law is labeled and placed under non threatening and for your own safety meanwhile its for us.

Feds Spend Billions to Fund Civil Asset Forfeiture Seizures

If you are interested in CAF then Steve Lehto covers it quite extensively on his channel.

Sadly he is not on Rumble so you do have to go to You Tube to listen but he is worth listening to.
