I haven’t seen the game but I read she may have ‘thrown’ it as a final FU to America. Someone posted that the penalty kick was missed by a mile - one their child could have made but she missed it. Intentionally???

I don’t want to pile on when someone is hurting, but Ms. Rapinoe was simply a cancer on this team. She infected several players with her Leftist, anti-America ideology. Kudos to the ladies who did stand and sing for the National Anthem. Ms. Rapinoe is definitely a talented player, but she won’t be missed.
On a side note, I NEVER root against America. However, I found I wasn’t actively rooting FOR the USWNT. As a proud American, that bothered me. With Ms. Rapinoe leaving maybe things will change.

Megan Rapinoe got unequal pay for the women's national soccer team, skewed heavily in favor of the women.
Women are now paid the same as the men despite drawing from a a pool of revenue that's 50x less than what the men bring in. There's nothing equal in that.
