We should have taken care of Iran the minute Reagan got into office.

Who is even left in the U.S. military to staff this kind of initiative?

All this will do is increase tensions when US Marines return fire, and some Iranian patrol boat or two sinks. Then some Iranian helicopter will launch and try to fire rockets.

Or maybe we should have just left them the hell alone after World War II.

A couple of Harpoons and a 25mm cannon should do the trick. If they have the balls to use them.

So how does that work when our troops have had issues protecting their own ships from Iranians?

I don’t blame them. It’s the fags not there setting the rules of engagement and causing incidents like that.
To: McGruff
Now there’s a list topper for really bad ideas. Not surprising though. Just make sure the hostages, I mean soldiers are DEI units with Rainbow patches on their uniforms.

Sheer lunacy.
While the US has an essential interest (ensuring Gulf oil reaches market) in free navigation in the Persian Gulf, putting US military personnel on commercial tankers not under the US flag is just irresponsible.
The captain of that ship will decide when to yield to Iranian demands, not the OIC of the military detachment.

Iran is improving their capabilities. They’re getting a lot of experience with their drones in Ukraine.
