Former President Donald Trump has been indicted on charges related to special counsel Jack Smith's probe into efforts to overturn the 2020 election, sources with direct knowledge tell ABC News.
It marks the third time the former president has been indicted on criminal charges, following his indictment last month in the special counsel's probe into his handling of classified materials after leaving office, and his indictment in April on New York state charges of falsifying business records in connection with a hush money payment made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels.
Trump, who has decried the probes as political witch hunts, pleaded not guilty to all charges in both those cases.

I suspect the wording ‘oppress’ in that statue will be interpreted liberally...
They only need one conviction, on a constant stream of charges, to stick to put him away long enough to keep him out of the election and possibly until death.
They are crazy if they think Trump will be handcuffed and arrested and be behind bars. The results may be something they do not expect.
But I guess go ahead and roll the dice DC.

We weren’t around in 1776 and none of us were around for the Civil War. Gentlemen, this is serious. No funny quips or smart ass remarks. This is serious.
Trump was not trying to “overturn an election”! Trump was trying to get people to recognize that the “election” was not valid.
“Why isn’t Jack Smith run out of town on a rail?”
Because he is a Soros stooge that has Satan behind him. Just like Biden, Obama and most (if not all) of the damned Democrats.
At some point, even the most benighted fool realized that this is a joke. It’s lawfare against a political opponent and nothing more.
From another thread, it was assigned to Obama appointee Tanya S. Chutkan referred to as (paraphrased) ‘the only J6 judge to hand down harsher sentences than requested by the prosecution.’
Will be very interesting to see what release conditions will be. Trump is under minimal release conditions for the New York and Florida charges, but the DC charges are considerably more severe.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see Special Counsel seek house arrest, and maybe even communication restrictions (loss of access to phone and internet) that could hinder the campaign significantly.
I’m sure they are going to try to load the release conditions with potential violations they can use to try to have him remanded to jail. That will be a pickle.
His first scheduled trial isn’t until the GOP nomination should be pretty well decided as I recall.
Took our fake government with its fake laws and phony "justice" system TWO AND A HALF YEARS to figure out that a crime was committed...
Yes, The Bidens are in deep doo doo so throw another charge or two at Trump.
I am not a Trump supporter, but I will vote for him.
This is like the COVID 19 lockdown- it is to see how far the Democrats, DOJ, and others can push us get and away with before people start to stand up.
Many will willingly comply and cry about the mistreat and others will take a stand. Voting for Trump isn’t the only response people should have in this matter.
What can people do? Speak out. Stop doing business with those that support Democrats. Stop blindly thinking the police, FBI, CIA, IRS, and other government agencies are fair-minded or have your best interest in mind. Don’t blindly support Republicans and continue to think they are on your side of this issue. I know there are good people in these groups, but they aren’t speaking out.
Finally, if this concerns you, the Two-tier legal system, is to remove your children and grandchildren from public schools. Stop watching television and going to the movies. You are feeding the beast when you do these things.
I believe that Smith will spend the rest of his life looking over his shoulder.
You have put together a plan I like it. Well thought out.
Trump's donations will explode today, but DeSantis supporters here will whine that those donations are due to "Trump grift" because a lot of the money will be going to Trump's legal defense.
As I told one of these geniuses: No kidding, Sherlock. That's why we're donating.
All of the counts took place during and while President Trump was still the President and are therefore a violation of Trump’s rights.
Presidents enjoy immunity while serving and the only way to bring charges against any President is through impeachment.
Now Republican Congressmen and women how about removing Jack Smith for election interference and charging him with depriving Mr. Trump of his civil rights under color of law?
Where the heck is that impeachment of Merrick Garland?
At the risk of hyperbole, to me, this indictment is the political version of tur ing a Minuteman III key.
No good will come of it, and it cannot be walked back. This is very serious, and very bad. Pray for us all.
