MSNBC Warns of ‘Boiling Seas’ from Climate Change
Breitbart ^ | 08/01/2023 | THOMAS D. WILLIAMS, PH.D.

Posted on 08/01/2023 7:14:27 AM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

MSNBC warned Monday of “boiling seas” due to climate change, citing ocean readings of 100ºF off the coast of Florida.

Never shy about employing incendiary rhetoric, MSNBC seems to have forgotten that while the boiling point of water is 100º Celsius, it is actually 212º on the Fahrenheit scale.

In his jeremiad titled “We’ve reached the ‘boiling seas’ part of the climate crisis,” MSNBC writer and editor Hayes Brown laments that “oceans around the world are breaking record temperatures thanks to climate change.”

I believe it was. Now if we could only expose the other climate change arguments for the scams they are.

Too bad for Guam. It’s not only expected to tip over, but to tip over into boiling water. Biden and Harris aren’t the only ones with serious mental deficiences.Along with truth, reality isn’t a value held by Democrat/Communists.

Lets see, water boils at 212 degrees at sea level. I’m not sure what sea water would boil at, but I do assume the dissolved minerals would likely have some impact on that temp up or down, though not a lot...

Not a chance in hell we are heading toward boiling seas anytime soon... unless the SUN suddenly starts outputting a hell of a lot more energy, which is something we have zero ability to control.

What is the boiling and freezing point of both fresh and saltwater?
- maria (age 13)
congress middle, lake worth , F.L., Florida

A:
Hi Maria,

For pure water, the boiling point is 100 degrees Celsius (212 Fahrenheit) at one atmosphere of pressure, and the melting point is 0 degrees Celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit) at one atmosphere of pressure. At at high altitudes the lower pressure makes the boiling point several degrees lower. For example, in Denver, Colorado, the boiling point is about 95°C or 203°F.

For saltwater, the boiling point is raised, and the melting point is lowered. By how much depends on how much salt there is. I’ll assume the salt is sodium chloride, NaCl (table salt). The melting point is lowered by 1.85 degrees Celsius if 29.2 grams of salt are dissolved in each Kg of water (called a “0.5 molal solution” of salt. The Na and Cl dissociate right away when dissolved, and so for a 0.5 molal solution of salt, there is a 1.0 molal concentration of ions). The boiling point is raised by 0.5 degrees Celsius for water with 29.2 grams of salt dissolved in each kg of water.

If your concentrations of salt are different, then you can scale the boiling point elevation and melting point depression predictions directly with the concentration.

These numbers come from the CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics.

Tom

Heard the waters off S Florida are close to 100 deg. F, not C. Gee, I wonder if the climate has ever changed before. What a mystery eh?

Lobsters will be done and ready to go when they brought aboard the boat. Get a metal dinghy and load it with butter that will melt and you can eat right on the boat.

Just a short quote, from “The Walrus and the Carpenter” by Lewis Carroll.

The time has come,’ the Walrus said,
To talk of many things:
Of shoes — and ships — and sealing-wax —
Of cabbages — and kings —
And why the sea is boiling hot —
And whether pigs have wings.’

And other things that may be highly improbable.

many people are suddenly talking about boiling oceans.

Have the talking points gone out? It seems they have, if many different outlets are using the same exact words to describe the situation we are supposed to panic about.

Tired of hearing about “climate change”. Go with something realistic like “weather change”. Not that we can do anything about it either, so how about not telling the public that their money can change the weather or the climate.

Yesterday, my boat electronics registered 94 degrees in the Manatee river off of Bradenton. 1/2 mile wide and 10 feet deep there. Outdoor temperature was 100. These are normal July 31 temperatures here. Many people go north or take their vacations now to escape this heat. I found a post from July 28th last year and there was a heat index of 110 degrees and a warning to drink water etc. Boiling water? Lol!

Yes, adding salt to fresh water decreases the vapor pressure, meaning that it takes a higher temp for the liquid vapor pressure to equal the atmospheric pressure (boiling point).

Boiling seas is beyond fictional and not even pseudoscience.

I’m calling BS. I just went to NOAA’s buoy database and can’t find a current reading in South Florida or the Caribbean over 93F. I’ve used buoy data in the past for fishing purpose and I know that there are errant readings. I’m thinking there may have been a 100+F temperature reading that was inaccurate and the media ran with it because it fit their narrative. Are there any Freeper boaters/fishermen that can verify?

The recent heat wave was explained by NASA and JPL some time ago. It’s caused, in part, by the volcano eruption near Tonga which put huge amount of sea water into the air, which is a greenhouse gas. However, unlike most eruptions which carry sulfur into the air and blocks the sun, cooling the environment, water vapor intensifies the heat. The event took place in January 2022, but it’s effects are likely going to last for several years.

You won’t hear much about this cause from the MSM because it does fit the humans-are-killing-the-planet message they want to spew.

Where are the seas boiling— off of volcanic flow onshore, coast of Africa... Chariot of the Gods (has been since documented in 1200 AD).
