What is striking is that Romney does not trust the party leaders to do the right thing and show Trump the door.
He wrote:
Donors may think that party leaders can narrow the field. Not so. Candidates don’t listen to party officials, because voters don’t listen to them either. And the last people who would ever encourage a candidate to withdraw are the campaign staff and consultants who want to keep their jobs for as long as possible. They buck up candidates, promoting long-shot prospects and favorably biased internal polls. I can almost hear the words from “Dumb and Dumber”—“So you’re telling me there’s a chance?”
The schism between conservatives and republicans keeps growing wider.

It’s got something to do with magic underwear.
Romney said he hasn’t seen any evidence Joe knew anything about Hunter’s and his brothers, sister’s, and Grandkids bidness.
Which is how a sleaze bag would weasel word a lying statement.
It doesn’t matter what game a guy like Romney wants to play, the 45th President can handle any game they throw at him.
Crowded Field until the Convention: Trump wins.
Trump vs one dwarf candidate until the Convention: Trump wins.
Sounds like myth got his magic underwear to tight again
The question is, what does Romney fear more: Trump losing and giving Biden/Harris 4 more years, or Trump winning? I believe he doesn’t like either outcome, but which does he think is worse? If Trump is the nominee and Romney never says anything for or against either candidate all through the campaign, that means he prefers a Biden win.
Many might find it hard to believe, but Romney endorsing Trump could be the difference between him winning and losing. I think a Romney endorsement of Trump, with heavy attacks on Biden, would carry weight with the more RINOish Republican voters. If Romney says nothing next year, that will tell us he doesn’t want to possibly put Trump over the top.
Mutt needs more covid boosters. Can’t be too safe, Mutt, double up on the boosters!
But you know, he was over weight and his family all posed in matching shirts and that was much more important then any thing else.
This is so pathetic.
Had Romney not pealed away that small handful of potentially R voters who actually listen to people like him, Trump would not be the nominee in 2024 because he would be term limited.
It is ironic that Romney’s own behavior (and those like him) is why he is now so tormented about 2024. He’d have just over a year left of his supposed nightmare.
>>”Mitt Romney’s Plan to Oust Trump”
Mitt - may your endeavor be as successful as your 2012 campaign.
Well, mitt Romney certainly knows how to lose...
Couldn’t be klit’s. He never had an original idea in his life.

I now my head in shame for ever having supported this lying backstabber Romney. Nobody as morally bankrupt should be elected to any public office - not even dogcatcher
Trump will get well over 60% of the vote. Even if there is only 1 other person running Trump is the nominee…
I think the ‘shelf life’ of Romney’s plan was a bit shorter than he hoped, as the latest poll, on Tuesday, had Trump at 57%, so the absolute BEST another candidate can do is 43%, and then ONLY if that other candidate picks up the FULL support of everyone else’s voters, which ain’t going to happen with Vivek supporters, for starters.
Mitt you $hit, please go away and spend your Ukrainian money that you laundered along with the Bidens. You Suck and that’s all there is to it.
Romney needs to control the field, rather than allowing voters to decide.
Translation: they’re capable of election fraud up to a margin of 10 points, but would have a hard time swinging the fraud for a 20-point margin.
Welllllll, I'd normally not wish someone to "drop dead". But in this case I'd say I'd not object to his decision.
Romney seems to think that everyone supporting non-Trump candidates will automatically support the remaining non-Trump candidate. They thought the same thing in 2016, but as candidates dropped out in 2016, about half their support went to Trump, not to Cruz.
