DeSantis, long considered former President Donald Trump's chief rival in the GOP's 2024 primary contest, has cut a third of his campaign staff — or 38 people, according to campaign aides who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal campaign strategy.
"Following a top-to-bottom review of our organization, we have taken additional, aggressive steps to streamline operations and put Ron DeSantis in the strongest position to win this primary and defeat Joe Biden," DeSantis campaign manager Generra Peck said in a statement. "DeSantis is going to lead the Great American Comeback and we're ready to hit the ground running as we head into an important month of the campaign."

No wonder he's campaigning with neverbackdown, even though it's against regulations.
The campaign may be broke.
He needs to quit smoking crack and cut the top 1%.
The irony here will be when both DeSantis and Trump implode and we end up with Nikki Haley.
I could have told Ron to wait until 2028.
A reset?
“Oh great and powerful Obama, I am filled with shame for doubting you.”
“Please run my campaign.”
“And again, know how sorry and ashamed I am.”
He should go back to being governor full time before he completely blows his 2028 chances... if he hasn’t already.
“DeSantis is going to lead the Great American Comeback and we’re ready to hit the ground running...”
Yes, like he claims the previous months’ effort to hit the ground running does not exist, just like he apparently claims Trump’s first presidencey never happened — he has got to debate ME to prove himself to the American people.
Ron, just give it up.
Go back to FL and keep workin’ on your resume.
Trump won’t implode. There is no scenario under which that could ever happen.
Your comment lacks... um... everthing.
You Never-Trumpers are such lame concern-trolls.
DeSantis is going to be “rebooted” into oblivion. Is he too stupid to realize that it’s not his message but who his handlers are? The base hates everyone behind his campaign from his big $ donors to his advisors because the base knows that he will deliver their agenda, not the base’s.
Hey, I voted for Trump twice. I knew the Russia and Ukraine stuff was BS. I just have a bad feeling he’s going to (or did) talk himself into something he can’t get out of this time.
If desanctamonious has any hope of a future in politics, he’ll get out now and endorse Trump. But even then it is probably too late. At least for me it is, I’ll never vote for him again.
Not going to happen. The Nomination is Trump’s.
Who would you want in 28?
He was in Chattanooga today for a fundraiser.
Ron, ... Ron ... now is not your time. Use the next four years to prepare for your turn. Prepare for greatness.
I believe major donors are holding off on further PAC money until they have confidence his campaign is on track. It hasn’t looked good lately.
I’ll bet Floridians are happy he’s been offline working on a failing campaign. Especially since he had to change Florida law after he filed to run to allow him to run while holding office.
“The campaign may be broke.”
That’s what happens when you rely on a few big money donors and they ditch you when you can’t deliver.
