Texas Ping, the Best State in the USA!

A ping out to the Texas Ping list, founded by Windflier.

Yet another new tax on Texans, but at least this one is centered on a specific set of citizens - those who collected the $7,500 electric vehicle bonus from the feds.

Look for the MSM to cry about how unfair this is - while they all want to save the earth thought higher taxes, they didn't mean higher taxes on THEM!!

Another special Texas political edition for your perusal.

As always, please FReepmail me if you want on or off the Texas Ping list.

Blessings, and stay cool!

There should be an extra fee on tires to help offset the missing fuel taxes. EV’s eat tires because of the extra weight...............

Texans who own or purchase electric vehicles will pay up to $400 to register their “clean vehicles” and $200 every time they renew their registrations. The measure is expected to bring in about $38 million in new revenue.

https://www.kiplinger.com/taxes/texas-electric-vehicle-tax-registration-fee

Texas has a $0.20 tax on each gallon of gasoline. So, $400 / $0.20 = 2000 gallons / 20 mpg = 40,000 miles per year and the $200 fee afterwards is 20,000 miles per year. So at least they are being fair to IEC drivers.

The government will tax EV’s (first) on a per-mile basis, then all vehicles, on a per-mile basis.

It’s coming.

If they can afford those useless cars, they can afford the tax.

Electric vehicles do not pay gas taxes, which are used for the upkeep of the roads in Texas. They also are often far heavier than comparable gas or diesel cars, so they cause more wear and damage than gas or
diesel cars (that again, they largely do not pay for.) This is an appropriate replacement.
