Remember that long-promised, overhyped Spring counter-offensive that U.S. officials talked about at the beginning of the year? Well, it turns out that pretty much everyone knew Kiev was not remotely prepared for it, and yet they sent Ukrainian soldiers to die anyway.
That’s according to a report from the Wall Street Journal, which claims that “Western military officials KNEW Kiev didn’t have all the training or weapons … that it needed to dislodge Russian forces. But they hoped Ukrainian courage and resourcefulness would carry the day.”
Can we just take a minute to talk about how insane that is? Not only is the U.S. and its NATO allies forcing Ukraine to fight this war in the first place, and refusing any chance of peace talks, but they’re also sending soldiers to die in battles they know Ukraine doesn’t stand a chance in.
The report goes on to state that “As the likelihood of any large-scale breakthrough by the Ukrainians this year dims, it raises the unsettling prospect for Washington and its allies of a longer war—one that would require a huge new infusion of sophisticated armaments and more training to give Kiev a chance at victory.”
An unsettling prospect? That’s an interesting way to describe the proxy war that is playing out exactly as it was intended to. And yes, that is the case, even as the U.S. spent a record $46 BILLION on military assistance, claiming that their goal was to help Ukraine fight Russia.
Of course, that wasn’t enough. And with patience waning in January 2023, the Biden Administration’s favorite fundraising drive become the promise of a “spring counter-offensive.”
“With spring approaching, the Ukrainian forces are working to defend the territory they hold and preparing for additional counter-offensives. To liberate their land, they need to be able to counter Russia’s evolving tactics and strategy on the battlefield in the very near term,” Biden said at the White House in January.
That promise was echoed by Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin in February, when he told the Ukraine Defense Contact Group—which basically consists of NATO and a handful of countries that wish they were a part of NATO—that there was going to be a Spring offensive, and the West must support it.
“Together, this Contact Group has made it clear that we will support Ukraine's fight for freedom over the long haul—and help Ukraine hold and advance during the spring counter-offensive,” Lloyd said.
But it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows, and that was the case very early on, despite the Biden Administration approving the Abrams tanks Kiev had been demanding. Maidan Coup Architect Victoria Nuland—who is still around because where else would she go—told Congress that the tanks wouldn’t make it in time for the spring offensive.
"Abrams, as you know, are very sophisticated tanks and they require significant training. So, even as we approved them yesterday, it’s going to take some time to get them to the battlefield. So, this is not something that’s going to appear in time for the spring offensive,” Nuland, the Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, said in January.
The longer it was delayed—or the less successful it actually was—the more the excuses poured in. Especially from members of the Ukrainian establishment, such as this advisor to the Minister of Defense:
When asked, “Has it started?” in April, Yuriy Sak said, “[the] Spring offensive, we need to understand, is not anything that will begin with a blow of a whistle. This is a multitude of very complex operations. Some of them already underway.”
By the time May rolled around, many were questioning if we should still be calling it a “spring” offensive, including the Associated Press, which appeared to be looking for ways to explain why we’re not seeing the results we were promised. The excuses they listed included the spring weather, a lack of training, and delayed weapons.
Just a reminder… the Biden Administration knows exactly what Spring weather is like in Ukraine. They knew troops weren’t going to be trained. AND they knew those weapons and supplies weren’t going to be delivered in time. But they still lied to the public anyway, in an effort to keep as much support as possible behind that blank check for Ukraine.
Now they are trying to push the blame off on Ukraine, claiming it’s their fault that the offensive is moving “slower than expected.” In response, the head of Ukraine’s Armed Forces voiced his frustration with the West last month. He insisted Kiev needed F-16’s, and said, “This is not a show. It’s not a show the whole world is watching and betting on or anything. Every day, every meter is given by blood.”
Oh, but there are many who are betting on this one and making big profits as they keep Ukraine at war, and Kiev knows it.
But if there’s anything that is frustrating the Biden Administration right now – it’s not just Kiev isn’t delivering on the promises made in Washington. It’s also that Russia is well aware of this, and President Putin is calling it out every time he has the chance.
“It’s clear today that Western curators of the Kiev regime are certainly disappointed with results of the counteroffensive that the current Ukrainian authorities announced in previous months. There are no results, at least for now. The colossal resources that were pumped into the Kiev regime, the supply of Western weapons, such as tanks, artillery, armored vehicles and missiles, and deployment of thousands of foreign mercenaries and advisers, who were actively used to break through the front of our army, are not helping,” Putin said on Friday.
Meanwhile, Western media are increasingly using terms like “stalemate” and “frozen conflict,” as it becomes more and more clear that that won’t be any kind of “decisive victory for the U.S. strive for in the near future, if ever.
But I would argue that a “victory” wasn’t the actual goal. Instead, the Biden Administration has helped Ukraine become the new Afghanistan.
Remember the longest war in U.S. History, which Congress kept approving Billions and Billions for each year, while officials lied to the public and claimed that there was ever a chance of a U.S. victory? Afghanistan was one of their favorite places to launder money and weapons, and also one of their main sources for opium cultivation. That was, up until the Biden Administration oversaw that disastrous withdrawal from the country in 2021.
What we now know is that Joe Biden had another country in mind, one that the U.S. had already been busy arming, training and funding since 2014.
Now, Ukraine, which already had a reputation as one of the most corrupt countries in the world, has an unprecedented influx of money, weapons and Western control. And while the long-term goal may be to weaken Russia’s economy as much as possible – that didn’t come to be with the U.S. elites keeping their money laundering hobbies in mind—and that’s something everyone should be talking about.
Who could have known that $120 Billion plus Cluster Munitions would not be enough.
“Courage”. Dan Rather?
Easy for US officials to talk about courage..
Thousands of miles away from the dyin n cryn.
Freaking cowards .
Agreed. Team Biden and his woke-ster military brass who orchestrated the disastrous Afghanistan exit are the biggest cowards of them all.
Now way to obvious:
Ukraine 1991-2023 RIP
The Fat Lady is singing.
Courage isn’t hard, if it ain’t you required to exhibit it. As far as I’m concerned courage is being able to carry out your duties while being scared 💩less. Having courage don’t mean you survive. Their blood our money, now the Russians and the Ukes get to play it again. DC needs to serve there or suck up a nuke. IMO sometimes I think.
Dear Western Media: Recall the saying “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.” What do you call it when they fool you eight or nine times and you still believe them? Insanity?
I think this means those who die to protect American despots must do so with 'courage'.
Spring? That’s long gone.
There is a scene in the movie “Downfall” (where the ranting Hitler parodies come from) — as the Russians edge closer to the bunker in Berlin, a general informs Goebbels that the German troops outside barely have any guns and cannot possibly push the Russians back.
Goebbels replies something to the effect that: “Their zeal and confidence in der fuhrer will be enough to bring them victory.”
The general responds that this is basically ludicrous.
Goebbels changes his attitude and says pretty explicitly: “The fools voted for us. They knew who we were. They deserve everything that happens to them.”
My feeling: if your leaders say that “courage” is all you need, what they are really telling you is that you are a fool and you deserve what you’re about to get.
The Democrats must have done some really awful things in Ukraine.
It’s like my old boss said,
“Hooah don’t stop bullets.”
Courage or conscription?
What has happened to Ukraine is awful and totally evil. They are being murdered for twisted and decadent Western elites. Their lives don’t matter just as I’m sure ours don’t matter.
Both sides have done bad crap there. The GOP are in this up to their chin, they ain’t fighting it either. Sitting in DC is easy if you ain’t taking the incoming. The pendejo’s in that town ran Vietnam. My generation got defoliated, punji sticked, and spit on. ie my animosity toward the beltway. If it looks like 💩, and smells like it, it needs to be disposed of.
The “analysis” of the article is absurd. Russia launched this war and bungled it. And the Ukrainians have been supplied with a lot more than courage.
There was no Western plan to “weaken Russia’s economy”. There is a war started by Russia.
“Neocons in the State Department ordered the counteroffensive because they thought it would work. They believed all their own hype and propaganda - Russia is a “gas station,” and a “paper tiger,” and all that nonsense.”
...and the thing was, they were right about that...and then Putin took over, saw how weak the still-Soviet military was - cut the manpower in half and used the money to develop new generations of weapons, using their WELL-EDUCATED workforce (can’t resist taking a dig at US public schools).
The Neocons, rather than saying “Oh crap, Russia is getting stronger by the day”, instead spent their time having our military rough-up rinky-dink Third World countries and took that to mean WE ARE INVINCIBLE - meaning that our weapons are also INVINCIBLE.
Then it came time for the Neocons to fight Russia, and the government they installed in Ukraine, and the governments they installed in the rest of Europe, were GUNG HO - OFF TO WAR!!! Too bad, they should have paid attention to Russia over those years, it wasn’t a secret - it was well-document in the Washington Times by Bill Gertz, among others.
“As the likelihood of any large-scale breakthrough by the Ukrainians this year dims, it raises the unsettling prospect for Washington and its allies of a longer war—one that would require a huge new infusion of sophisticated armaments and more training to give Kiev a chance at victory.”
This is what infuriates me. The Globohomo FAGGOTS of the GAE, NATO and the EU send tens of thousands uselessly to their deaths, but they are “unsettled” by having to provide additional training and armaments.
Eventually the Ukrainians will figure out that they are just being used, and will never get NATO or the EU, they may be willing to go after those who betrayed.
Me, I hope for the day that AZOV, Wagner, and the Chechens are unleashed on these cowards and TEAR THE COWARDLY FAGGOTS OF WESTERN EUROPE AND BLUE CITY AMERICA APART !
We've had 50 days of Ukrainian counteroffensive where Ukraine hasn't been able to reach the first line of Russian defense.
Only someone severely intellectually lacking can't grasp Ukraine has no chance of taking an inch of territory back.
In fact, Ukraine is now starting to lose ground and Russia isn't even on the offensive.
