Listen to Scott Adams.
As a Lowes customer, I give Lowes one (1) chance to remedy this quickly, or lose me to the competition (Home Depot).
I really think a form of hysteria has taken over the nation and much of the world.
A form of insanity.
I guarantee both companies have the exact same policy.
Why risk getting injured or killed over $2k?
Interesting, thanks, and both policies are well worth looking into.
The formula is quite simple.
Dead employees, dead customers and even dead shoplifters are far more expensive than stolen merchandise.
But if you want to risk your life so that your employer does not lose a hundred bucks to shoplifters, I guess they can’t stop you from making that ultimate sacrifice.
At best, they will honor your with 30 seconds of silence at the next employee meeting.
Would you care to provide a link?
But I wonder.... what if the store's paging system had a function that could make the loud sound of a gun firing. It's pretty unmistakable, and given the distribution of speakers throughout the store, it would not be obvious where it was coming from. So instead of an employee engaging physically with the thief or thieves, the employee hollers "Stop thief!" and hits a button that makes the sound of a gun firing. Might make the perp drop their booty and run.
OTOH, it also might make the perp pull out their own gun and fire it at the nearest person. So maybe not so great an idea after all...
“Is that what you want?”
At the end of your shift, it is far better to go home to be with your family than to it is to go to the morgue to be with the medical examiner.
Anyone know if a GoFundMe is up for these two ladies?
bLowe’s
Stay out of Lowe’s. You are not safe there.
That's hard to do in Georgia. The insects are everywhere.
We will only go to Home Depot now despite having a Lowe’s right down the street. One tractor being returned this week.
Keep up this cowardly and stupid policy and you will soon have no customers or staff.
How do you spell “Boycott”?
Home Depot has the exact same policy:
“[Home Depot] spokesman, Stephen Holmes, told KTRK: “We have a strict policy that only our trained security personnel can pursue and engage shoplifters. We’ve had deaths and serious injury over the years, and no amount of merchandise is more important than the safety of our associates and customers.”

Followed by a couple of minutes of Charlie Brown teacher wah-wah-wah of why you better be a good little monkey and just “see no evil”
Lowe’s management fired her because she is 68.
Because of potential healthcare costs. If we had free medical care here in the USA instead of socialized costs would be far less and people could buy their own medical insurance and stay employed as they get older.
