A significant moral threshold has been crossed, critics argue, following the confirmation that the U.S. has provided cluster munitions to Ukraine for deployment against Russian forces in southeastern Ukraine. Both Ukrainian and White House officials have validated this development.
John Kirby, national security spokesman, revealed last Thursday, “U.S.-supplied cluster munitions are in Ukrainian hands and being deployed in the field as part of Kyiv’s battle against Russia,” according to Reuters.

Haven’t the Democrats engaged in massive virtue-signaling over the subject of anti-personnel devices like cluster bombs and mines before?
Now they’ll be saying these devices “save lives.”
The Ruzzians should leave Ukraine right away if they don’t like cluster munitions being used against them like they use them on others.
Lets see what targets the Ukes hit and how many civilians are killed.
I am ill over this. This is so wrong!
There are lots of exceptions and ins and outs and exceptions associated with the Convention on Cluster Munitions.

“.....The U.S. has further stated that the development and introduction of “smart” cluster munitions, where each submunition contains its own targeting and guidance system as well as an auto-self-destruct mechanism, means that the problematic munitions are being moved away from, in any case.[12] ........ In 2008, the Pentagon pledged not to use any cluster munitions with a failure rate higher than 1 percent after 2018. However, U.S. did not impose an outright ban.[23][24]
The treaty allows certain types of weapons with submunitions that do not have the indiscriminate area effects or pose the same unexploded ordnance risks as the prohibited weapons. These must contain no more than nine submunitions, and no submunition may weigh less than 4 kilograms (8.8 lb). Each submunition must have the capability to detect and engage a single target object and contain electronic self-destruct and self-deactivation devices.[8] Weapons containing submunitions which each weigh at least 20 kg (44 lb) are also excluded.[9] Australia, which supports the treaty, stated that the convention does not prohibit the SMArt 155 artillery shell that it has bought, which releases two self-guided self-destructing submunitions.[8]
In response to U.S. lobbying, and also concerns raised by diplomats from Australia, Canada, Japan, the United Kingdom and others, the treaty includes a provision allowing signatory nations to cooperate militarily with non-signatory nations. This provision is designed to provide legal protections to the military personnel of signatory nations engaged in military operations with the U.S. or other non-signatory nations that might use cluster munitions.[25] David Miliband, who was Britain's foreign secretary under Labour, approved the use of a loophole to manoeuvre around the ban which allows the US to keep the munitions on British territory.[26] ....”
You must be in the 11% of republicans that support the USA funding the war in Ukraine.
Do you know what happens when you poke a sleeping bear with a sharp stick?
Don’t you think Russia will simply return the favor by dropping cluster bombs on key locations where they can kill indiscriminately rather than precise targeted attacks.
Do you also think Ukraine/USA should drop a nuclear bomb? What do you think would happen after that?
"The reason we still have wars is because we made rules for war".
Random children will get blown up in 4 or 5 years.
“Do you know what happens when you poke a sleeping bear with a sharp stick?”
I’d never know as I always kill them first.

“Do you also think Ukraine/USA should drop a nuclear bomb?”
No, I think they should handle them carefully so they don’t get damaged from pointless dropping.
There have been dozens of threads concerning cluster bombs here in the past week or so, and the “war crime” angle has been solidly shot down, as it were...
Funny to see folks make utter fools of themselves just to make a pretend attack against their political foe.
Agreed. These bombsd are slso useful against mine fields. Which interestingly enough is another war crime.
There is a tit-for-tat certain to take place. Cluster bombs reigning down, all around. Minefields - no man lands - are being created for generations to come.
And while there are over 100 countries who agreed to shun cluster bombs, neither the US, nor Russia, nor Ukraine are part of that group.
There are simply no binding int’l conventions that would make the use of cluster bombs a “war crime” anywhere, by anyone - except perhaps if intentionally used against civilians.
These hyperventilating bloggers - this source, and a few threads down The Gateway Pundit, et al. - should be flogged in the public square for their idiotic utterings.
You “always kill them first?” Video or it never happened. 🤣
Yet that’s exactly what the Zelenskyy bros here were screaming when there were reports that Russia used them last yr. 🤣
I’ve lived in Wyoming for twelve years now and I’ve gone hunting and I’ve also gone (gasp!) fishing. This is pretty normal here.
