Since the Floyd riots of 2020, the Left has promoted Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs as must-have credentials for woke corporations eager to show concern for “marginalized” minorities.
DEI is marketed as a way to address racial discrimination in the corporate world with affirmative-action hiring practices. The programs also include LGBTQ+ identifiers, feminists, and any others claiming victimhood.
Thus, DEI has been all the rage for the last few years as major companies scrambled to hire DEI officers for their workforce and boards of directors.
Abandoning Ship
The rage is now over. DEI. is still around, but it has lost its luster. When liberal programs lose their luster, it usually means it’s time to move on to the next great acronym.
Even the wokest corporations are abandoning the DEI ship in the face of growing disenchantment and backlash. Droves of DEI executives, once prized as oracles, find themselves unemployed and deplatformed.
Everyone is playing the blame game. Corporate executives are expressing concern about the worth of agenda-driven programs with little to show for billions of dollars invested. On their part, ungrateful DEI directors are questioning corporate America’s commitment to the cause in the first place.
The Honeymoon Is Over
No one doubts the honeymoon is over. The recent high-profile exits of several star diversity executives at Disney, Netflix, and Warner Brothers Discovery highlighted the DEI crisis. They either resigned or were let go.
Since mid-2022, high-tech and larger corporate firms have laid off many DEI officers. Government agencies have likewise jumped on the anti-DEI bandwagon as they pivot to more color-blind alternatives that reward merit, not identity.
Martin Brown, chief diversity officer for the Commonwealth of Virginia, opined, “DEI is dead.” The inclusion officer for Gov. Glenn Youngkin made this statement in a recent speech to the Virginia Military Institute (VMI).

There are three reasons why DEI might die. The first is that Americans are reevaluating the programs.
As more challenging times hit corporate America, its leaders are taking a second look at inclusion initiatives. They are not finding the expected results. Thus, the process of reorganizing, rethinking, and restructuring has led to more DEI layoffs than in other fields.
Both leaders and employees are also taking a harder look at the agenda behind the programs that go beyond the workings and needs of the average American corporation. It is easy to see how DEI melds well with Critical Race Theory (CRT), gender ideology, pronoun tyranny, and all things woke.
Many Americans generally resent the intense pressure used to force these programs on the population, schools, and business communities. The corrosive ideas tend to create and increase Marxist-style class struggle between imagined oppressors and oppressed. Others complain that DEI standards are subjective and arbitrary and do not translate into what is needed in their businesses and the nation.
So this may be the end of the tranny nonsense? Admiral Levine to walk the plank? We can hope.

The trend on this appears to be an emphasis on the word “equity,” which the Left seems to find superior for their purposes to equality. Really, it’s just a way for stupid people to think that they sound smart by using a new word.
I don’t know which corporations this author is referring to although he names three show-biz entities, but I work for one of the world’s top banks. They have not backed away from DEI crap one iota. We have a team of over 40 people and only 10 are white. Only 4 are white men.
Out of the 40, how many of the top 10 performers white men?
I think the HR departments are just learning to keep their mouths shut. No change in actual hiring and promoting. They realized celebrating their win with DEI rubbed salt in the wound.

They can push to reform society all they want. The plaintiff’s bar will take the money in the meantime.
What money? Money that these corporations are going to be coughing up when the discrimination lawsuits come rolling in and they will come rolling in. Slowly at first, but when the wave gets going, it will be tidal.
What do these DEI executives do all day? What do they produce? If they do get laid off, what business would hire an ex DEI executive? I didn’t know that was a college major.
No, DEI isn’t going away. They are just going to give it a different name. They can’t give this up because it is their most brilliant strategy ever - use the productivity and wealth of corporations to 1) act against interests of shareholders 2) destroy the organizations that implement it and 3) use their resources to further the left’s agenda.

Democrat attorneys general for 21 states plus Washington D.C. have written to Fortune 500 executives urging them to keep using corporate power to push diversity.
None of these diversity fascists can ever support the merits of their arguments. They can’t because their arguments have no merit, it’s all buzz words and meaningless phrases predicated on the not too subtle subtext of losing one’s job or worse if you don’t go along with it.
Some few years ago as a condition of my job I had to sit through one of these ‘’in house’’ sessions and this black woman was going on and on about how ‘’We’re all equal and diversity is our strength’’.
After two hours of this tedium I point blank asked her “If we’re all equal then how is diversity our strength?’’
The woman looked at me with a blank stare for several seconds and then just kept yapping away.
“Equity” is “everyone gets the same outcome no matter what” aka full bore Communism.
We here know that the only way to achieve that is equal misery or universal death, or both.
DAs don’t encourage. They prosecute, so what they’re doing is threatening and blackmailing.
Continue racist policies, or they’ll drive your business down with lawfare.

I don't have those statistics. However, only one of the four white men on the team of 40+ is a "leader" (manager or supervisor). There are eight leaders on the team. Of them, only two are males; one of whom is white.
