Life-threatening flooding pummels western Kentucky, submerging homes and stranding residents amid rescues

MAYFIELD, Ky. – Potentially catastrophic amounts of rainfall prompted a Flash Flood Emergency declaration in western Kentucky, including the town of Mayfield, Wednesday morning as waves of thunderstorms pushed through the region.

Already, 4 to 6 inches of rain have fallen in just a few hours, swamping roads in Hickman, Graves and Carlisle counties in western Kentucky and prompting several water rescues in Mayfield with many homes in Mayfield and Wingo surrounded by water, according to the National Weather Service office in Paducah, Kentucky.

Some spots got it pretty bad. Many power outages, too. The stream of storms has narrowed and somewhat (somewhat diminished), but Graves County (KY) for example has way too much water already. Storms still redeveloping upstream SW of St. Louis. Another heavy t-storm just went through Mayfield. Quite difficult and dangerous to travel. NWS Paducah issued multiple emergency flood warnings and PDS (Particularly Dangerous Situation) -- the last PDS in their warning area that I know of was the Mayfield tornado (Dec. 2021). Not good.

Tons of rain up in the Northeast as well these past few weeks, especially in the Hudson valley.

Were we to get an East Coast hurricane this year, even remnants of one, that could really cause issues for much of this area as the ground is so saturated.

Some of you may think that this is a bunch of B.S. But before you brush it aside give it some thought.
The 3600 year signature cycle

In the event you happen to be one of those people who have been wondering about some of the strange weather patterns, not just locally but also world wide, comprised of flooding, draughts as well as an increase in earthquakes, volcanic eruptions etc. The following may provide you with some of the answers as once again we are approaching the 3600 signature cycle which slowly and deceptively continues to unfold.

As this cycle progresses and slowly unfolds unfortunately it is accompanied with floods, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, bugs and pests as well as crazy unseasonable weather patterns. And the chances for humans to stop or avert any of this are pretty slim to none as this appears to be a re-occurring natural event or cycle. And even if all the politicians stand on their heads, as well as throwing money at what is conceived erroneously as a problem created by humans, what it is not, it would not change a thing.

Just take the ever increasing number of earthquakes worldwide, which are part of this repetitive cycle, even in the wildest imagination it would be difficult to make a correlation between it and anything related to global warming. At least for now and until the general public becomes knowledgably enough and realizes what the real causes are behind some of these events, ignorant politicians will milk these perceived causes for climate change or global warming for all its worth, in order to extract more taxes from the general public under the guise to fight man made global warming or climate change. Humans could not do anything about it one way or another even if they tried.

More signs and events of things to come are part of the 3600 signature cycle as it is unfolding world wide. About 3600 plus or minus years ago similar events gave the then ancient Egyptian Pharaoh Thutmose an Excedrin headache and just about drove him bananas, better known as the TEN PLAGUES, eventually resulting in the release or expulsion of the Israelis from bondage as they, or good old MOSES used these events to their advantage by threatening that there would be more to come unless they would be released.

This event went down in history as the Biblical EXODUS. The catch is that these events were not just limited to ancient Egypt at the time, as we scan ancient, available and somewhat scarce records from this period we will find that ancient China was plagued with very similar events and disasters.

Just for interest sake about the same time 1500 BC or approximately close to 3600 years ago,1500 BC + 2023AD= 3523 approx. the time of the EXODUS the volcano located on the island of Thera located in the Mediterranean blew up with the estimated force of about 40 (forty) nuclear bombs, permanently re-arranging the Mediterranean, forming the Santorini Archipelago. At the time turning days into night, also affecting Egypt with pumice from the eruption found there as well.

So far being located in the upper Midwest, overall we have remained pretty well unscathed aside from some flooding her and there. Let us hope it will remain this way. At the same time it will be worthwhile to remember that some of these cycles may be more destructive than others, quite well described by Emmanuel Velikovsky.

On the other hand you may want to keep in mind that there has been a steady increase in earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, flooding all over as well as one season running into one another along with crazy weather patterns WORLDWIDE. All this just doesn’t happen without a reason and global warming supposedly caused by humans is positively not one of them..

Weather-wise, the rain has finally lightened up across the region. Ditches and small creeks are lowering. Large streams steady or seem to be rising slightly (I’ve not canvassed all!). One such ~ 10 miles away from us is by a considerable margin the highest I’ve ever seen in July. I imagine the large rivers and esp. the Ohio and Mississippi still have most of whatever rise this may cause yet to come, but, for those last two this should not be a major event — that takes weeks of rain when soils are already wet.

The evening (local) news tonight should be pretty interesting.

Our forecast high of 93 deg. F today with a heat index near 110 deg. definitely isn’t going to happen. Somebody @ NWS blew that one! (Present forecast is 85 deg., heat index 97 deg., both maxing out around 6 pm. — a stray / lingering shower could lower that.)

I'm OK. There was a lot of damage last week from baseball sized hail and really high winds not far from me, but I didn't sustain any damage at my house.

We had to go to Paducah late this afternoon. It seems almost entirely ok. They didn’t get quite the torrential rains places like Mayfield did (officially 11.28” @ Mayfield, while Paducah likely got around 6”.)

I didn’t catch quite all of the report, but someplace near us yesterday or early today got literally grapefruit size hail. One pictured measured 5” diameter. Imagine getting hit by that at over 100 mph...

We live on a knob. What we worry about is tornados. That really bad one a couple of years ago passed within less than a half mile of our house. My neighbor lost four buildings and roughly 54 head of cattle. We didn’t even lose a tree.

However, when that bad windstorm came through a few months ago, we lost five or six cedar trees. I was in the hospital at the time for open heart surgery. Cutting those things up are on my to-do list I’m finally getting to...

But rain is not a problem for us, unless it goes all biblical. Then nobody’s safe.

Oh, my word. Glad you are ok, that you are recovering, and that your grove did not suffer worse! Take care of yourself!
