Weather-wise, the rain has finally lightened up across the region. Ditches and small creeks are lowering. Large streams steady or seem to be rising slightly (I’ve not canvassed all!). One such ~ 10 miles away from us is by a considerable margin the highest I’ve ever seen in July. I imagine the large rivers and esp. the Ohio and Mississippi still have most of whatever rise this may cause yet to come, but, for those last two this should not be a major event — that takes weeks of rain when soils are already wet.
The evening (local) news tonight should be pretty interesting.
Our forecast high of 93 deg. F today with a heat index near 110 deg. definitely isn’t going to happen. Somebody @ NWS blew that one! (Present forecast is 85 deg., heat index 97 deg., both maxing out around 6 pm. — a stray / lingering shower could lower that.)
