Here is Ron DeSantis full off-the-cuff response defending Trump vis-a-vis Trump's impending grand jury testimony: “Look, there’s a difference between being brought up on criminal charges and doing things. Like for example, I think it was shown how he was in the White House and didn’t do anything while things were going on. He should have come out more forcefully, of course. But to try to criminalize that, that's a different issue entirely and I think that we want to be in a situation where you don't have one side just constantly trying to put the other side in jail.”

DeSantis DEFENDED Trump. This was, as Trump with say, a perfectly good answer.

Tepid defense is worse than saying nothing at all. This was tepid at best.

he was in the White House and didn’t do anything while things were going on. Hmmm, he came out on twitter and did a press release and a video.

DeSantis has repeatedly and consistently defended Trump against political persecution. This is the latest example. And, yes, DeSantis gives detailed answers, which is both good and bad. I like his answer here.

I’m not a Desantis hater, but this was pretty weak.

At least he said something.

He should have shredded the DOJ. He torched himself, it’s over for him. Sad.

True. But after 4 pm, hours after things were obviously not going well.

Very lawyer-esque.You're right, that is DeSantis, he is or was an attorney.

This is the weakest defense I've seen from anyone.
If DeSantis was running for governor of Florida in 2022 and the Biden administration filed sham criminal charges against him, Trump would have been calling for the DOJ to be burned to the ground.

True. But after 4 pm, hours after things were obviously not going well. It took a while to get back to the WH, remember he had to wrestle 3 SS agents in the Beast to take control of the car. And tell me, didn't he authorize national guard to be there? Isn't that doing something BEFORE this occurred?

I like Ron DeSantis just fine, and I am willing to support him in 2028.
But we need Trump in 2024 and we need him filled with a need for revenge against the people who stole 2020.
Nothing good will come to us unless the people responsible for stealing 2020 are caught and punished.

You're right, that is DeSantis, he is or was an attorney. As I've said before, this alone ought to disqualify him from holding any public office. He also worked as a DOJ prosecutor himself at one time, which means he deserves all the public respect you'd give to a child molester.

That clip was out-of-context and misleading. Surely you would object if someone took 15 seconds of a 42 second clip of Trump to create a misleading impression of what he said. Fair is fair, be honest here.
