Former Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) says he thinks it would be a mistake for former President Trump not to attend the upcoming Republican presidential primary debates as the former president threatens to skip it.
“[The race] is certainly his to lose right now. He’s an unconventional candidate. When some people talked about him not going to the upcoming debate in August in Milwaukee — I think that would be a mistake,” Walker told CNN’s Dana Bash on “Inside Politics” on Monday.

why on earth should he? Trump (and his supporters) own the party.
These other ass hats are irrelevant.
Except Vivek. Who is awesome.

I don't think tour definition of allies is the same definition as mine.
Hardly. I worked in Wisconsin for 3 years out of my 60, and lived there for one, enough to get up to speed on who he was and what he was doing, but not enough for an emotional commitment unrealated to the facts. I spent most of my life in CT, and have zero use for John Rowland or Jody Rell! I don’t like people mischaracterizing a good man based on his opinion in who should be debating six months out.

Btw, we all need to do our part and not watch any debates without Trump in them. Put the pressure on the Repukes to play ball

There’s not a person on earth that doesn’t know exactly where DJT stands on a particular issue. So there’s no need for him to participate.
To: philman_36
Oh, he’s a favored son. No wonder you took offense.
That was the line I meant #22 to be in response to, sorry.

Which is why Walker wants Trump to be there in the hopes there is such a gotcha moment that Trump’s mo is broken. Walker is a never Trumper and he thinks by making this “dominating” reference he can appeal to Trump’s vanity and tick him into going to this set up.

Look, it’s axiomatic in politics that a candidate with a commanding lead over his nearest opponent in a crowded field never agrees to debate. So if President Trump does skip out, it shouldn’t damage his support in any meaningful way.

It really only helps the other candidate if Trump shows up.

Why is an "ally" recommending such an idiotic recommendation then?
You actually think participating in a debate is going to raise Trump's numbers further?
You're BOTH delusional if that is what you believe.
No, no...the real desire is to get the numbers LOWER.
That is why his opponents want him there.
That happens through the ONLY thing that will happen...a never ending pile on.
NOTHING would be learned about the other candidates.
Just another Bash Trump fest.
Yes, a NITWIT!

We have to be more supportive of our allies.
Been there done that too many times. All we got was a swift kick in the ass. Never even got a lousy T shirt.

Oh ya Walker is a big Trump supporter right
Why would he want Trump on a debate stage. That’s numbskull. Anyone who pretends we need to hear from Trump is out to lunch

I don’t like people mischaracterizing a good man based on his opinion in who should be debating six months out.Oh, he can share HIS opinion and I can't share mine. Got it.
What he DID, his statement, makes him a nitwit.
He clearly hasn't thought this through...and if he DID think it through...NITWIT!

It’s a simple matter to serve the deep state while doing what you say Walker did.
In this article, his advice to Trump sounds like flattery.

Wisconsin left did to Walker and his associates what they’re later doing to Trump nationally.
Essentially they made conservative politics illegal, making normal political activity illegal.
Wisconsin was a dress rehearsal.

Cool it. My personal opinion is that it is way too early to have ANY debates. I don't read people out as being stupid or a "nitwit" if he has a different opinion. Walker was an exceptional governor who changed the direction of a state that seemed to be unable to do better than Tommy Thompson for decades. He is not a political nitwit, and I don't bail on good men that quickly. I know that I have made errors in the past and am grateful for people who can see past the error and the underlying man.
So, you can consider me a nitwit on a non-core issue, even though we probably agree actual positions. I don't come down so hard and fast on prudential judgments or horse race opinions.
