DeSantis says Trump not only didn’t fulfill major promise, it got worse
Fox News ^ | 7/16/23 | Jessica Chasmar

Republican presidential candidate Gov. Ron DeSantis rattled off a list of what he deemed to be broken 2016 campaign promises by former President Donald Trump, saying he’d rather attack the GOP front-runner on the issues than personality.

"Substantively, we've been very frank about our differences with respect to the former president," the Florida governor said. "I mean, for example, he promised to drain the swamp – it got worse. He did not drain the swamp.

"He promised to have Mexico pay for a border wall. They did like 50 miles of wall. There's massive expanses still there," he continued. "He said he was going to eliminate the national debt. They added almost $8 trillion to the debt in four years.

"And of course, in 2020, he turned the country over to Dr. [Anthony] Fauci, and those lockdowns and the borrowing and printing really set us on a bad course," he added. "I've been very, very frank at that."

What good came from J6? Many saw it coming far in advance, and begged Trump not to have it, or to at least make sure it was policed, which it wasn’t. So what good came from it?

Hey the fight isn’t over. Trump did exactly what you said. The problem is you believe the media.

The problem is YOU have no fight in you. Trump is in there still fighting at great cost. WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

What good came of it? It has still made a lot of people angry and involved.

What good did the Boston Tea Party do?

Look at the numbers, there’s only about 50 miles of new wall, the rest was refurbishing old.

They put up ~460 miles of new Trump wall. They didn't "refurbish" anything. Useless barricades and fences were replaced.

DeSantis is repeating a lie.

I said he didn’t give a reason why he chose “beautiful” as the new nickname for Hillary. Do you like the new nickname “Beautiful Hillary” or does it make you want to puke, like it does me?

I’ve met some of these creatures. They play a typical Illinois Republican game. They really believe what they say to us in the primary. But they are more afraid of what the NYT thinks than of what their voters think.

If 77-78 year old Donald Trump has to drop out of the election because of health issues, who is your second choice?

Not somebody who lies about the wall.

"IF he dumps us, we dump him. that simple."

He already dumped you, and plenty others in Florida for greener pastures, but he made sure he got the State Legislature to change the Resign to Run law, so when he crashes and burns, he can slither his way home to the Governor's office. He thinks everyone will forgive and forget. I hope they don't.

If Washington is bombed and we are at war who is your choice? Your question is ridiculous like pretending we are making predictions for football leagues.
We cross those bridges if & when we come to them. Frankly I find it suspicious that such a question should be asked. There is always the possibility of a black swan event.

"The swamp drained him."

It was more than just the swamp that stole the 2020 election. I firmly believe there was international interference involved...the Chi-coms being the most prominent as they had a lot to gain by getting rid of Trump, and setting up their puppet dictator Biden.

Just lost any respect I had. Only a backstabbing rat would fault Trump for unkept promises. His own party cooperated with the democrats to prevent him from getting getting things done. It’s a miracle he got anything at all done!

“Trump didn’t drain the swamp,” complain the critics and ankle biters from the sidelines.

First off, drain the swamp wasn’t part of Trump’s initial campaign promises. That term only became a thing after he became president and was confronted by the depth and breadth of corruption in DC. That’s when it started gaining traction.

Second, most modern presidents were given eight years, two terms to get their big campaign promises accomplished. Not Trump, no. His second term was stolen, after delivering a successful first term—in spite of unrelenting opposition and backstabbing from his own party. He still got some big things done and I think Trump deserves a shot at finishing up his agenda.

Trump fulfilled more campaign promises than any other American president since ... maybe ever.

You don’t call it refurbishing when you replace a chain strung between posts with a steel bollard and concrete fence.
One you can limbo under, the other is a much different proposition. When you gaslight you lose all credibility.

Just reading this excerpt, he is not wrong.

However, he was still a very successful president and accomplished so much for freedom, peace and democracy in spite of those issues.

Four More Years!

The problem is YOU have no fight in you.

Ridiculous. I like many realize Trump clearly hasn't won a single fight in years now. He's all talk, no action, anymore. Time to bet on a new horse. This old one needs to be put out to pasture, he's just as likely to throw you or kick you than run a good race.
