Former UN weapons inspector Scott Ritter is touring Russian cities and claiming Ukraine will lose the war. Why do he and other disgraced Americans insist on defending Putin's rhetoric?
Russian propaganda outlets have loved quoting Americans they believe are arguing in Moscow's favour ever since the 2014 invasion of Ukraine, and even more so since the full-scale attack launched in February last year.
While the concept of Western intellectuals kowtowing to Soviet leadership – and downplaying their crimes – was relatively common during the Cold War, it has gained new momentum since Russian President Vladimir Putin made clear his plans to either break up or occupy the entirety of Ukraine.
Ritter is a convicted sex offender, having been caught exposing himself to minors online on several occasions. He served a year and a half in prison. Despite this, he claims he was being targeted by the US administration for his opposition to the war in Iraq.

In law, if Joe Biden were to go through an impeachment trial, I would be wiling to hear the testimony of those corrupt around him. If Hunter Biden were to go through a criminal trial for drug abuse and more, I would be willing to hear the testimony of the criminals around him.
I heard MacGregor & Ritter interviewed recently. They are not spouting what I would call ‘the official narrative’ (sound familiar?). IMO, they made a lot of sense and I feel I was enlightened, frankly.

Ritter gives informative and insightful commentary that really upsets the warmongers and neocons, and it must be true because they are trying to discredit and silence him.

Our nation engaged in propaganda in all wars we've been involved ib. Because doing so kept the home fires lit with hope which kept people working hard towards the goal. Sometimes propaganda is needed for those purposes. But sometimes they are used to fool the people to keep the spending & the supplies of military equipment going, even though they, the people involved in the effort, know it's going down a rat hole. That is the propaganda that has been gong on.
So while, people like you denigrate Scott Ritter for speaking the truth, I applaud him for speaking the truth. Because this conflict was conceived by evil, and is inflicting significant amounts of damage & pain upon the Ukrainian people. You are not helping them, as you are being led to believe. In reality, you are destroying the very people you want to help, and are really just supporting evil.
Real support would entail boots on the ground. Would you support that becoming the reality? If not, then why do you support it at all? When you begin to realize that the whole operation is not what you believed it was at all, why would you continue supporting it at all? That is the lie you have bought into. So, why are you still supporting it? You are not helping Ukraine & you are not helping the Ukrainian people, because that is not the true goal here. Time for you to wake up to the fact that the goal here was to weaken Russia & exact regime change with the ouster of Putin. Helping Ukraine is just the cover story to elicit support for the goal. If they were honest about their goal, people wouldn't support it. Why anyone would believe the cover story just blows my mind.
It gets even worse when you start to understand that Zelenskyy, was all too willing to sacrifice his nation & his citizens to this proxy war, because his motivation was to enrich himself.

The real goal all along has been to capture the resources of Ukraine.
They started out by fomenting a regime change in Ukraine. They did this using the signing of the Russian trade agreement as the synthesis to generate ire in that decision to rise up & oust a duly elected president for his actions. Yanukovych had every intention of signing both trade agreements, until he was told by the EU that their trade agreement would be taken off the table if he signed the Russian trade agreement. This act of coup d'état generated the response they had hoped for from Putin, when Putin decided to retake Crimea, that Russia had far more claim to for it had been seized from the Ottoman Empire, not Ukraine. Ukraine had gotten possession of the Crimea only because Nikita Khrushchev gifted it to them in 1954. Because Putin decided access to the Black Sea was crucial to Russian security, he seized it back. Putin was concerned about Russia's security because the U.S. was being belligerent towards Russia. NATO's indications of bring Ukraine into NATO only helped to stoke that concern.
So, the U.S. countered that act with training the Nazi factions in Ukraine to create upheaval in eastern Ukraine which was predominately sympathetic to Russia, even though they considered themselves as Ukrainians due to their family having lived in Ukraine for generations.
Putin had seen this same scene play out in Georgia in 2008, & Putin warned the west then that he considered Georgia & Ukraine to be red lines. Russia had been promised by Clinton's administration that they would not expand NATO into the spere of Russian influence. That was a lie as they quickly included nations into NATO that had once been in the sphere of USSR influence. Which were ignored by the Russian leaders before Putin arrived on the scene as a Russian leader.
Meanwhile, the hostilities began to heat up in eastern Ukraine. Putin tried to get the international community involved in stopping these hostilities. The international community responded with the first Minsk accord in 2014 which Ukraine had signed. The hostilities continued, so they went back into negotiations in 2015 & hammered out second Minsk Accord. It too was signed by Ukraine, but the hostilities continued. So, Putin once again reached out to the international community to get them to force Ukraine to implement the Minsk Accords. No one was really interested in that happening.
To save time & energy, I'll let you fill in the timespan from that point to the point where I will continue on.
So, Putin began placing troops along parts of the Ukraine eastern border in April of 2021, trying again to spark interest for the international community to get involved in forcing Ukraine to implement the Minsk Accords. He waited almost a full year before beginning implementation of what he called a special military operation on Feb. 23rd 2022. Which is basically what this nation has done throughout the Cold War, for none of our actions were declared wars.
He did this in anticipation the the US & NATO would seek to intervene to stop the Russian incursion into Ukraine. But that was not the result, because the US & NATO had intended this to be Putin's response in order to use Ukraine as the theater to engage in the proxy war that has now gone on for for a year & a half.
Our country viewed this as a sign of Russia's military weakness. What it really was, was a sign of restraint because Russia really did not want the hostilities. They wanted cessation of the hostilities that had been raging in eastern Ukraine for 8 years.
But it had given the US & NATO what they wanted to promote the propaganda that Russia & Putin were seeking to reconstitute the USSR & seize Ukraine's resources.
One would think people were already awakened to the realities that this is the standard method of operation for the Democrats, to blame what they themselves do on others, usually Republicans.
Apparently not, because the reality is you really can fool some people all of the time, because they never really catch on to the scam.
Yes, the Russians are far more honest and accurate than the Biden regime, which lies about everything.
Ritter is simply giving an honest about what his happening on the battlefield as is former Trump advisor Col. Douglas Macgregor.
