Former UN weapons inspector Scott Ritter is touring Russian cities and claiming Ukraine will lose the war. Why do he and other disgraced Americans insist on defending Putin's rhetoric?
Russian propaganda outlets have loved quoting Americans they believe are arguing in Moscow's favour ever since the 2014 invasion of Ukraine, and even more so since the full-scale attack launched in February last year.
While the concept of Western intellectuals kowtowing to Soviet leadership – and downplaying their crimes – was relatively common during the Cold War, it has gained new momentum since Russian President Vladimir Putin made clear his plans to either break up or occupy the entirety of Ukraine.
Ritter is a convicted sex offender, having been caught exposing himself to minors online on several occasions. He served a year and a half in prison. Despite this, he claims he was being targeted by the US administration for his opposition to the war in Iraq.

Ritter has been looking for an audience as an “influencer” for decades. The best way to do that is to find an underserved niche.

Their system works on the basis of state-designated oligarchs who skim oil revenues and keep them abroad. And below that it seems like its more layers of organised crime, down to rural villages. And the plurality of the population seems to be either drunk or drugged.

Perhaps because he’s RIGHT far more than the Western Media, particularly when it comes to the way the Russians are turning our top weapons into scrap. Probably would have helped if we considered MODERNIZING our weapons before going to war, as Russia did.
And who knows what they get up to in fact. All you are going on are pronouncements by their government.

Ritter is and has been a leftist anti American traitor. He was discredited long ago. Anyone saying the same things as Ritter should at least pause to think again.
Why do people post it here?
America never fought a war because Europeans wanted it. We did so for our own national interests.
Mines are ancient. Ukraine needs proper systems (human, not tech so much) to deal with them.

If certain Europeans didn’t want it, then it wouldn’t have been in US interests. Interplay.
Ritter has always been part of the transnationalist anti-sovereignty crowd.
