VILNIUS, Lithuania — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Wednesday that it was “logical” that some NATO leaders fear sparking World War III by admitting his country while it’s at war with Russia — striking a conciliatory tone one day after he blasted the alliance for not offering Ukraine membership.
Zelensky, however, did argue at a press conference with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg that an invitation to join still was appropriate immediately because of the “signals” it would send.
“We understand that someone is afraid of talking about our membership now because nobody is willing to have a world war, which is logical and understandable,” Zelensky said through a translator hours before a scheduled sit-down with President Biden at NATO’s annual conference.

Somebody has finally put the little creep in his place. The rule is....You can’t join NATO when you are at war.
He should have given up the two areas and ended the War. THEN enter into the NATO Alliance. just an opinion...
I am all for kicking Russia out of Ukraine. I support sending them the materials for their armies pushing Russia back to Russia.
But letting them join NATO while they (Ukraine) is in the middle of a hot war is just stupid. Do they invoke Article 5 the minute they are accepted? It’s just stupid.
If Ukraine was not worthy of inclusion in 2021...not much has changed in the mean time.

Obviously that’s not what he said because he said no one wants a world War and that it’s a logical concern.
Hard to understand how anyone can criticize this particular statement.
I understand Mr. Z. He is losing his little war and MUST start WW III or be crushed. Just as Serbia had to start WW I to keep from being crushed by the Austro-Hungarian Empire. But, emotions, rightness or wrongness aside, what is in Europe’s best interest? If war comes—they will suffer the brunt of it most. Yes, war powers will help the Dimmycrats in the USA, but they do not realize that we could lose such a war—and that changes all. The liberals could end up on the wrong side of a cultural revolution and see their heads on pikes. The road to war seems almost a one way street now. The forces unleashed may not be able to be stopped.
