Has Trump really turned on Kari Lake, one of his loudest cheerleaders? Arwa Mahdawi Arwa Mahdawi Her biggest political accomplishment was losing Arizona’s gubernatorial race in 2022 – and now Trump and his team think she might be too thirsty for attention
Sat 8 Jul 2023 09.00 EDT Kari Lake’s career goes bung Let’s say you want to be vice-president of the United States but you don’t have any meaningful political experience and you’ve never held public office. What do you do?
For most normal people, the answer would be to build your political career gradually. Start small, work your way up, and hope that one day your hard work gets you one of the biggest jobs in the world.
But Kari Lake, a self-described “election-denying deplorable” who has helped boost conspiracy theories about Covid vaccines and once called Anthony Fauci an “evil elf”, is not like most normal people. Her two-pronged strategy for rising to the top of the political world? 1) Say as many bigoted and outlandish things as possible, in a bid to generate headlines. 2) Become Donald Trump’s loudest lapdog.

Name names or it didn’t happen, Liar McLiarface.
I’m not a huge fan of her either, but for somebody who’s had great success in life, Trump has trouble dealing with people. He can’t hide his feelings about people. I guess Kari has the same problem. That’s why she couldn’t stop herself from telling McCain voters to “get out.” So it’s only a matter of time until one or the other says the wrong thing.
The “political experience” argument is dumb. Trump had no “political experience.” Outsiders think outside the box and less likely to be bribed.
She has ALWAYS had short hair. She was a news broadcaster here in AZ. Never saw her with long hair. But nice stereotype.
Yes. He seems to be very eager to burn bridges. I wonder what his motives are. Invective and negativity against real or potential supporters are a bad way to secure a base.
Right On!
I was living in AZ when she started out.
She really does not look any different.
You know not of what you speak. She has aged very well.
NO. Obvious fake news DISINFORMATION.
“This from a newly minted Floridian who remembers his promise he would not run for 2024. Go ahead. Explain that one.”
*************************************************************
How about you doing some explaining. I don’t remember any such promise not to run. Sure I could have missed it, but I’m not betting I did. How about you provide us with a link that proves that DeSantis said he would not run in 2024. Go ahead.
I voted for him in 2022 in hope he would run for the WH in 2024 and expand his awesome policies nationally. He can ultimately do more for Florida from the WH than he can from Tallahassee.
“I’ll wait and hear it from Trump’s mouth. He’s outspoken enough to say it himself.”
Well he already turned on Kaley Mceanany and I heard Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds. Bad moves if true.
I’ve lost count on how many attorneys he has had in all the many charges and indictments against him. And there is a huge organized approach called 65 Project that is designed to blackball and cancel any new attorneys that might consider working for Trump.
And then there is the matter of who will he pick to be his VP? Will there be anyone left who he has not insulted that would take the job?
Don’t forget Lake beat a RNC favorite in the primary.
Read her book before you trash her.
She said "McCain Republicans", not "McCain voters".
One should stop themselves from getting quotes wrong.
>> Has Trump really turned on Kari Lake, one of his loudest cheerleaders?
Not according to her.
You equate his criticizing someone as his turning on them?
Show me the path to your brain. It does not exist.
Because you are a retard.
Re: 117 - Knock off the insults. Site ownership was clear about that and in fact the owner posted a thread about it over the weekend.
re·tard VERB
[rəˈtärd]
delay or hold back in terms of progress, development, or accomplishment:
"our progress was retarded by unforeseen difficulties"
You didn’t use it as a verb, you used it as a noun. And you know it.
Grow up and stop hurling insults because people don’t agree with you.
