Dang Vikings. I knew they were trouble.
The Vikings did ransack Paris several times but eventually the locals led by Duke Odo got their act together and held off the Norsemen one last time.
The Franks were so impressed with Odo that they deposed King Charles "The Fat" and made Odo "The Saviour of Paris" their new King.
Time for a new Queen Marine?

My grandfather spilled his guts in the Meuse-Argonne in 1918 and damn near lost his life and two of my uncles almost lost theirs in 1944 in the Ardennes and for what? So the Frenchies could surrender it to the Saracens. Good God.

I used to say if we ever had to save France a third time, we should make it the 51st State in the Union.
Now I’ve come to believe we never should’ve let them have it back the last time. The cost of us saving their baguettes should’ve been U.S. extension of Constitutional rule over the First American State on the European Continent.
Woulda coulda shoulda....
