White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby on Sunday defended President Biden's controversial decision to send cluster munitions to Ukraine.
"This is about keeping Ukraine in the fight. You were just there. You talked to President Zelenskyy about the counteroffensive, and in some ways, it’s not going as fast as he would like," Kirby told host Martha Raddatz during an appearance on ABC's "This Week." "They are using artillery at a very accelerating rate, Martha, many thousands of rounds per day. This is literally a gunfight in – all along, from the Donbas, all the way down toward Zaporizhzhia and Kherson. And so, they’re running out of inventory."
"We are trying to ramp up our production of the kind of artillery shells that they’re using most. But that production is still not where we wanted it to be," Kirby added. "So, we’re going to see these additional artillery shells that have cluster bomblets in them to help bridge the gap as we ramp up production of normal 155 artillery shells."

keeping Ukraine in the fight - that is a poor goal and conflicts with American values at several levels.
The goal should be to find a peaceful resolution.
Yeah, let’s waste a lot more money, time, and people’s lives by escalating the violence, just to prolong the inevitable outcome.

These decadent clowns have had more than a year to sort this out.
They have only put on a second shift since Feb of this year - raising daily production from 500 to 1000 shells per day.
Meanwhile, “primitive” Russia blasts away with 20,000 shells per day.
The GAE (Globalist American Empire) is a failed state that can’t even provide munitions for its globalist wars.
Translation: Ukraine is in danger of collapsing and our munitions manufacturers haven’t made enough money.
I hope the Democrats and Republicans that support the Ukrainians are ready for American troops to be sent to the Ukraine and the coming National Draft.
Fact that the Western press don’t tell their readers is, more countries refuse to support the Ukrainians, or they take a neutral position. China, India, the GCC (Middle East) and many more countries refuse to follow the West in their support of the Ukrainians. Russia has more support than the Western press will acknowledge.
This whole situation has been mishandled by the Democrats, RINOS, and many of the NATO members. Now we are faced with at the very least, a war with Russia. I understand the need to contain Putin, however, the methods we took only enabled Putin more than harmed him.
Once again, are you ready for a war with Russia? Are you ready to have your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren drafted and serve under our current military commanders?
Anyone who takes great pleasure in this horrible meat grinder is a globalist at their core. Notice how the organizations that would be screaming for “peace” such as the Vatican, mainline Protestant groups, academics, the UN etc. have done virtually nothing to foster a solution.
