R&B singer and actor Jill Scott blasted America by changing the words of the National Anthem into claiming it is an oppressor state during a live performance on stage. Jill Scott was performing on the second day of the Essence Festival on the perceived systemic racism in America, saying the country is "not the land of the free."

It’s cyclical. What colleges and schools have been teaching for decades was bound to have an effect on society.
saying the country is “not the land of the free.” Says the ingrate who is free to roam the country and sing what ever she wants to. She was not arrested for butchering the National Anthem.
It’s “oppressive”, yet she was singing on stage on live TV and attacking the nation’s character and was not arrested never to be seen again like she would have been in some other countries and certainly throughout history.
I have to confess that I enjoyed her acting in the Number One Ladies’ Detective Agency set in Botswana. Thing is, even though nearly all of the characters were black, it wasn’t about being black, just being people. It’s a shame that she’s decided that everything for her is about being black. Let her go somewhere else.
