"This July 4th, we must remember that we stand on stolen land toiled by enslaved Africans and recommit ourselves to the fight for freedom, equality, & justice so that these ideals are accessible to everyone, not just a privileged few.
We are not free until everyone is truly free."
Maybe not slave but indentured servant with no hope of ever paying off the debt as “they” tax me every way “they” can.
That’s a bingo.
They speak as if the plumber and carpenter are standing on the necks of the slaves and Indians in the middle of the street.
These people are tiresome.
Their definition 9f freedom is steal property from white people, Subject them to racist discrimination, etc. There is nothing just or righteous about the democrat party. They are a truly satanic, evil group that corrupts everything they touch.
none of these virtue-signaling morons droning on about ‘stolen land’ suggest giving it back...
No push back on the leftist talking points is exactly why we are where we are at today.
I second that. I will spend some of my money for a one way airline ticket for him to the African nation of his choice, if he’s so unhappy in America. Good luck brutha’. One way, no coming back.
How do you come up with that?
had a process that allowed the document to be amended peacefully. It could have been done without firing a shot.
Yeah, in the 1960s maybe...Do the math.
“How do you come up with that?”
Start with . . . well, start with Article I.
If Africa was great why don’t these racist mofos go back ? I’ll chip in for one way tickets .
Yeah...and?
At the time of the founding, the "states" were like individual countries, sharing a common geographic location....not "a nation" so naturally....The United States.
The founders wanted all to unite, and had to craft accommodating language to hammer out the agreement. Of course the slave states wanted to game the system by counting slaves as voting population, which they were not, for the purpose of gaining representation in Congress. Hence the 3/5s rule.
The "other persons" also included indentured servants, contract workers, who were to work for a period of time without pay, to offset the cost of bringing them here, then they would become freedmen.
Slavery was a common practice world-wide at the time of the signing, and still is practiced in some areas, but nevertheless, the USA was one of the first to abolish slavery.
How was the 3/5 compromise gaming the system by the South?
Northern states counted women and children for the purpose of representation in Congress and they were not allowed to vote.
Do you now make the claim the north wanted to game the system?
Nope.
