If you look at the developed world the G7, you’ll see that Australia, Canada, Great Britain, and the USA never had a need for a coup.
If you look to Africa, the other end of the continuum, they’re quite frequent.
Why is that?
It’s all in political structure and process. All the lower level structures have to go through processes as they move out of tribalism and communism.
You’ll note as well that those same systems were not capable of inventions, only the Christian west could do that. Simply put, they couldn’t develop the necessary infrastructure.
And they couldn’t or wouldn’t maintain what infrastructure was left to them.
This may be the only solution across the world, including US.

I would beg to differ, and think that at this point enforcing the tenth amendment as intended and restoring the Constitution would require a coup.
The Wars of the Roses were kind of nasty, and since then most of the “violent” changes of government in the anglo sphere have been fairly soft-—probably thanks to Henry VIII caving to a plutocracy that has struck a balance that exploits in a comparatively gentle way. There have been several changes of dynasty in England since then, and the American Revolution was not nothing, but on the whole the radical Republicans went the farthest towards violently changing the system, but they did keep the system in tact on paper.
