~ Independence Day, July 4, 1776 ~

Preamble to the Declaration of Independence

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed, by their Creator, with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.

That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles, and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.

Another dreary, chilly day up there again, I see. There have been some interesting clouds over the mountains all day that are kinda pretty though.

I couldn’t see it very well last night either but could at least make out the outline. Rain and storms have been the name of the game for several days now. Might have sunshine during the earlier part of the day but once it gets good and hot, clouds start piling up.
We’re in the dog days of summer.

I’m having a nice holiday now. Hubby’s friends who came up yesterday from GA are on their way back there now. They were real unhappy with the motel they were staying at, plus I reckon that could feel I wasn’t overly thrilled with them being here. Whatever the reason, they came over this afternoon to load up the car that belongs to one of them and said they were heading back tonight. Of course, the sun was out while we were outside and we were drenched in sweat. As soon as the car was on the trailer, it clouded up and eventually rained.

I went to Tullahoma tonight to watch their fireworks show and tomorrow, I’ll set my fireworks off and head across the road to watch everyone else’s fireworks.
It turned into a nice holiday after all. :-)

I just looked out...just in case...and it was shining brightly right before my eyes. Huge. I hope the clouds break and you can see it before the night is over.

Well, glad the unwelcome guests have moved on...and took one of the many cars with them. One down and how many to go? LOL!

Glad you’re enjoying the fireworks. I’m hearing a bunch, but there aren’t any pretty ones going up. Just the loud ones. Sounds like you’ve been and will be having a great 4th!
