'He said he'd fix the airlines': Furious passengers rage at Pete Buttigieg over holiday travel flightmare as THREE THOUSAND flights are delayed or canceled today - leaving Fourth of July plans across nation in tatters

Furious passengers began to lash out at Pete Buttigieg over the Forth of July weekend's travel chaos as 3,000K delayed or canceled flights has left thousands of people stranded.

Angry tweets slammed the Transportation Secretary for not fixing the airline industry as the number of Americans traveling by air for the holiday is expected to reach 25 million, surpassing pre-pandemic levels for the first time in four years.

'Almost 3000 flights were delayed or cancelled this weekend. And this is after he said he would fix the airline industry,' one Twitter user lamented.

But Buttigieg doesn't appear worried with how embattled United Airlines plans to improve, and rather says he is 'focused' on making sure the U.S. airlines stay on track over the holiday as he warned of 'severe weather' causing even more delays and cancellations.

As of Sunday morning, there were about 500 flights within, into, or out of the United States that have been canceled already today. There have been another 2,234 flights delayed so far.

The chaos began ahead of the holiday weekend as storms began walloping the northeast and parts of the Midwest, causing mass delays and cancelations into and out of New York area airports.

Stranded passengers have reported having to sleep at the airport and stand in line for hours as they tried to rebook their flights, with some saying they were forced to wait several days for their checked bags.

Embattled United Airlines is offering furious passengers 30,000 air miles to try and convince them to stay loyal to the company following a week of cancellation chaos – forcing many to spend nights in airports with many never landing at their final destinations.

'We had a hard two days with severe weather at the beginning of the week and that's put...

As much as I despise the Butt guy, what do the passengers want?

A high chance they will die of crashing and burning on takeoff or landing?

Weather isn't the Butt guy's fault. He does enough other stupid things, we don't need one out of his control to blame on him.

Many cancellations for a variety of reasons. From the forced Vax’s to shortage of qualified pilots…..gov isn’t going to fix the problems, in fact most were created by them…” Diversity “, ( hiring by skin color and not the most qualified), the employment requirement to get the clot shots, all the major’s lick Biden’s boots, so here we are….that said, I am intimately qualified on this subject matter.

Pete spends more time trying to be a good wife than Sec”y of Transportation.

The powerful and famous no longer fly commercial airlines. They fly privately on xharters that aren't even in the same cattle chute terminals and TSA. That's why air travel sucks, insults you, defeats you, and will never get better.

Our DOJ al8ne maintains its own private airline. So does the State Department, Immigration, Treasury. Thousands of planes that are part of a two tiered air travel system.

If all the pilots would just get the ‘vaccine’, and if all the pilots would just transition to the opposite of their birth, then all would be well.

Is this because of the constant rain problems we’re having on the East? Or the Canadian smoke?

Not sure Butt Gig is the problem, but if people get mad at him, oh well.

I’m curious. How many were let go because they didn’t want the COVID-19 vaccine or to get extra boosters?

Storms. Big deal.

The first and only time I’ve been on television was back in 1969. I was a freshman at Mizzou and got to the St. Louis Lambert Field for a flight to Philadelphia. Bad weather caused extensive delays, so I curled up agains a post in the waiting lounge. Totally unbeknownst to me, a local TV crew was filming the disgruntled passengers and took a shot of me. I found out about it when I got back to school and my buddies said “Hey, you were on TV!”

Well I agree with that. But if problems like those that caused the Southwest melt down at Christmas had been solved, then he’d surely be claiming credit. Likewise, they expected kudos for the tough talk directed to the airlines at the same time. If you claim tough talk as a virtue, expect some
Criticism when it proves ineffective at accomplishing anything at all
