A mother claims her son was banned from wearing shorts to school - despite there being a heatwave - and was told he could opt for a skirt instead.
Toni Hurst from Stockport says she was baffled when Hazel Grove High School told her that Tom Foster, 13, would be put in isolation if he didn't follow the rules.
She explained that a member of staff initially told her that 'boys are free to wear skirts instead of long trousers' over the phone.

How about these? https://kiltmaster.com/work-kilt-for-men.html
The difference between a skirt and a kilt is one is wearing underwear.
Seem to think the shorts are an improvement.
The question for me is if girls are also banned from wearing shorts. If so, yeah, that’s technically fair. Men can wear kilts if girls can wear skirts.
Depends on who’s wearing them. Either one.
Those already exist. Common cheerleader and tennis player garment.
Blue Ribbon indeed - I am sure he wore with pride
A kilt works, but they are warmer than they look. I have a Damn Near Kilt Them utilty kilt, and it does not circulate air to keep the legs cool.
He should wear shorts, and say that the shorts not only identify as an intelligent being, but further specifically identify as a skirt.
This mother should counter the school with “well, some members of Congress dress in basketball shorts ON THE FLOOR”
Just get a plaid skirt and wear as a kilt—or a real kilt (or a green Irish Kilt) Say its your heritage to honor your people.
A man moves from Scotland to the US and attends his first baseball game. After a base hit he hears the fans roaring, “Run! Run!”
The next batter connects heavily with the ball and the Scotsman stands up and roars with the crowd in his thick accent: “R-r-r-un, yah bloody bahstard. R-r-run!”
A third batter cracks a hard liner and again the Scotsman, obviously pleased with his knowledge of the game, screams, “RRRun, yah bloody bahstard, rrrrun, why don’t ya???”
The next batter holds his swing at three and two and as the umpire calls,”Take your base.” The Scotsman stands up, yelling, “RRRun, ya bahstard, rrrun!” All the surrounding fans giggle quietly so he sits down, very much confused.
A friendly fan, sensing his embarrassment, whispers, “He doesn’t have to run, he’s got four balls.”
The Scotsman stands up in disbelief and shouts, “Wahlk with prrrride, man!”
That troop has a BAR.
Just ID as Scottish and problem solved.
Kilts are acceptable and should be warn if it’s too hot. Shorts are clearly forbidden. What is so hard to understand?
OK ... I had to do a little research.
The weapon is belt-fed and has a carry handle. For a BAR, that’s very unusual. Belgium and Sweden made such modifications. Given that those troops are RLI, I guess it’s probably the FN Belgium variant. But I’m not sure.
The Kilt is a great idea though.
A skirt without underwear is lot cooler in hot weather than shorts with underwear. Just saying.
