Supreme Court rules against affirmative action. Chief Justice Roberts writes the majority decision for the six conservative justices: "Harvard’s and UNC’s admissions programs violate the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment.
Pretty much a 6-3 Supreme Court ruling on ideological lines to nuke affirmative action, with some nuances.
Roberts is joined by Thomas, Alito, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh and Barrett in the decision.
Kagan, Sotomayor and Jackson dissent.

How far reaching will this be? And what impact as I suspect Harvard and Yale already had new schemes standing by to discriminate using a new approach.

Of course not, her degree is law, not a degree in Community Activism.

About time SCOTUS put an end to discrimination.
It should have been done decades ago.

Thanks for clarifying. 😉💰

Jackson is standing in the middle of the forest but can’t see it because all the trees impede her view.

True story: about 30 years ago I was dating a woman who was a Radcliffe grad (younger folks should google Radcliffe College for info about the school). She told me that a classmate of hers who had become a Vice Chancellor of Admissions at Harvard told her that were it not for Harvard’s very detailed and very specific admissions policies every single Freshman class would consist entirely of Asians and Jews.

What is hilariously ironic, is that dissenting justice Jackson is an affirmative action appointment.
To: mooncoin
This should flatline any thoughts of reparations.

Jackson’s not an arborist so she can’t even define...or identify...a tree.

They may set up other criteria, such as giving preferences to some from lower income backgrounds, or other such things, which might result in more admissions of certain types of minority groups.
