I’ve had measurable rain every day from last Thursday through yesterday...totaling nearly four inches!
Fortunately it mostly came in “pulses” with several hours between each rain, so very few issues with ponding and stream erosion.
Today had no rain; a little drying is a good thing. Chance of storms tomorrow and Friday...but that is typical summer weather.
Good evening, radu...are you recovered from your mowing? More to do?
It’s been raining here, albeit very gently, all day! Finally made it above the 2/10” mark. Hope this keeps up all night.
Howdy, luvie.
Did you manage to escape triple digits today?
It was pretty toasty here but the furnace hits tomorrow. Dratted Canadian smoke - AGAIN - made it no fun at all to go out today.
Hey there, Kathy.
Only partially recovered from mowing but it isn’t as bad as I expected. I found a back support belt this evening that I hope will help in the future.
There’s more that needs to be mowed but that’s not in the cards right now. Too hot and now it’s really smoky again, courtesy of Canada’s fires. YUCK!
It made for a dreary day but it sure is nice seeing it rain up there. I’m with you I hoping it keeps up all night!
Good evening, Kathy. (((Hug)))
Hey there, radu!
Yep, the furnace is still stoked. It got up to 104. Not AS bad but still way hotter than I prefer. It’s still 90. The high tomorrow is supposed to be right at 100, and then under the triple digits after that. Where is fall when ya need it. LOL!
Yuk! Sorry you are dealing with that smoke again on top of the heat coming your way. Sounds like a double whammy to me.
Ugh! Still 90? Too hot for this time of night.
We had 91 this afternoon and it was a bit more humid than yesterday. Not much of a breeze like the past two days to give a little relief.
It was hazy when I woke up and it just got worse as the day wore on and the mountains disappeared from view again. It’ll be around for a couple more days, at least. *sigh*
Yes, I’m a zombie, and early bed is at the top of the agenda.
The sprinkles have stopped here, with just under 3/10” in my gauge. We’ll take it!!
I hope the wind changes to blow that old smoke back to Trudy. It’s his problem, not ours! It’s also bad in the Midwest, too.
I guess we’re lucky that we haven’t had fires close enough down here to create problems locally. But this heat has, according to FoxNews, has killed over a dozen people. It’s really a wonder it’s not more to tell the truth.
Good evening, luvie...we will never forget.
Glad you finally got good rain, and it came so it did the most good.
We sure won’t! God bless them all!
Yesterday at Wichita Ridge:
How's everyone doing this morning?
Yeah, I went out to change the water filter at the well and when I came back, the rain had stopped. Drat. The wind stopped too. Hardly a ripple on the lake right now. It’s glassy as a mirror.
But you got a decent amount of rain today and it was a soaking rain. That’s what was needed.
Early bedtime sounds ideal. A good, long sleep will do wonders.
The high that’s been sitting over you and is now moving over here is supposed to push the smoke off to the east by late weekend. It does need to go back up north to Canada since it’s THEIRS.
I read, last night, that they’re getting some of that mess over in Europe.
I’ve heard about some of the deaths down there due to the heat on the news the past few days. The temps you’ve had are so dangerous.
Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))
Glad to see you and Gizmo managed to find some time to head out to the lake yesterday. Looks like Gizmo had a grand time .... lotsa rollin’. LOL
I'm going to send you ladies a freepmail about something I have coming up. I'll drop it in just a moment.
They are extremely dangerous for those people who don’t have AC and don’t even have a fan, and there are lots of them. Also people who work outdoors and...well...the illegals who come over here through our desert and believe me, there IS no shade out there. They’d have been better off at home.
Anyway, guess I’ll finish up this show and try to get to sleep earlier than I did last night. It’s catching up with me.
Stay cool. Hope you have no reason to get out much till time to go to the museum. Maybe it’s cooler on the mountain?
Good morning, E...((HUGS))...grass and water and dirt and a big tree. What more could Gizmo want. He seems to have had a grand time at Wichita Ridge yesterday.
You guys have a good Thursday.
