Per another FReeper, the worker gave his watch and his wallet to another worker before walking into the engine.
Well, this is a new one.
... a ramp worker, employed by Unifi Aviation, a contractor for Delta at San Antonio, was killed when intentionally walking in to engine.
Suicide?! Wow.
People will go to great lengths to catch a plane.
Very sad and super expensive for the airline as that engine FOD’d out. Dux figure repair easy.
Dux = SIX
Well that would be pretty instantaneous
I guess he has seen enough bird fates that he thought it might be successful.
Giving away prized possessions....one of the final signals of suicide.
Yes, very possible that the suicide was intended as a final FU.
I hate suicides. They are mentally ill people who think nothing of those left behind.
Can you imagine the trauma of those personnel who have to clean up that suicide scene. They are still probably scooping bits of body parts from that engine and around the tarmac.
I met a man 3 weeks ago. He used an EMT flight engineer on a helo. He told me he could tell me stories that would send me into shock. He told me he used to bring home 6 figures. But the PTSD overcame him. He had to quit that job for mental health reasons.
He now manages a car wash. He is in therapy and trying to put his life back in order.
Worse, more like 7 figures (as high as $3.3 million for a “full overhaul”)...a new CFM56 engine goes for up to $17 million/ea..

A two week notice is more my style.
WOW- wasn’t expecting this !!!
FYI (((PING)))
Indeed
Apparently there were no tall buildings around.
Like jumping into a giant blender.
There are easier ways to do this.
Just missed his opportunity to let OceanGate implode him, so had to come up with a Plan B?
Not to mention that getting imploded is way too expensive for a ramp worker. Only the wealthy can afford implosion.
