Good evening, radu...are you having to manage the heat now? Or is it still raining?
It was windy here this morning, but that seems to have pretty much stopped. Not much in the way of sun, but no rain either.

Heaping Coals on Enemies
Give [your enemy] food to eat. . . . In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.
Proverbs 25:21–22Dan endured daily beatings from the same prison guard. He felt compelled by Jesus to love this man, so one morning, before the beating was about to begin, Dan said, “Sir, if I’m going to see you every day for the rest of my life, let’s become friends.” The guard said, “No sir. We can never be friends.” Dan insisted and reached out his hand.
The guard froze. He began to shake, then grabbed Dan’s hand and wouldn’t let go. Tears streamed down his face. He said, “Dan, my name is Rosoc. I would love to be your friend.” The guard didn’t beat Dan that day, or ever again.
Scripture tells us, “If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head, and the Lord will reward you” (Proverbs 25:21–22). The “coals” imagery may reflect an Egyptian ritual in which a guilty person showed his repentance by carrying a bowl of hot coals on his head. Similarly, our kindness may cause our enemies to become red in the face from embarrassment, which may lead them to repentance.
Who is your enemy? Whom do you dislike? Dan discovered that the kindness of Christ was strong enough to change any heart—his enemy’s and his own. We can too.
Reflect & Pray
What kind act might you do today to “heap burning coals” on your enemy’s head? How might you pray specifically for them?
Dear Jesus, I praise You that Your kindness leads me to repentance and inspires me to be kind to my enemies.

Howdy, Kathy.
The thermostat is definitely cranking up here and by the weekend, it’s going to be horrible. Upper 90s Fri. through Sun. with the heat index well over 100. Muggy heat. No rain for a few days at least.
Not a very pretty day up there today. At least the wind isn’t blowing as hard it was the other day. It’s blowing across Lake Hood strangely - - some areas of the surface are rippled and others are glassy.
Some crazy clouds are piled up along the mountains that are kinda pretty.

Are they predicting an end to the inferno soon? That high is moving over here now so maybe y’all will get a break in the heat at last.

Hey there, radu!
Yes, it’s supposed to be in the mid-90s by Saturday, but I’m sorry that you are inheriting this bonfire. It’s not pleasant. Crank up that AC!...and stay indoors.

It sounds like our temps will be a touch hotter than yours this weekend. They’re calling for close to 100 with the heat index between 104 and 112. Chances for showers will have the humidity cranked up.
It was 90 this afternoon when I headed out to run errands but it was windy and not too muggy. I’d planned to mow the back yard this evening but Dusty cancelled that plan. He showed up with his crew just as I headed out and hit the winter wheat with the combine. No way I was mowing with all the dust he kicked up. *gack* They pulled out at 9:30 tonight and I assume they’re done. I hope so! I HAVE to get the back yard mowed and tomorrow’s my last chance with somewhat decent temps. And hopefully more wind to make it feel a little better.

Well, it’s sort of the same but backwards. Ours was 112 and felt like 103. LOL! Take it easy with that mowing and make sure you have plenty of water with you. Even humid temps are not good if you don’t stay hydrated. I’ve even been drinking more water and I don’t even like the stuff. LOL!
Darn Dusty and his dust! I want to gag just thinking about it.

Yep, humidity or lack of makes a difference. Ours wasn’t too high today so it felt the same as the temp. Tomorrow is supposed to be the same with a couple of degrees cooler. Then the change moves in and I won’t mow in that. I don’t tolerate the heat very well, though waiting until around 5:30 or 6:00 helps a little.
I feel bad for Dusty. The wheat didn’t go to seed until late because it was such a chilly spring. Now it’s too late to plant a summer crop here. He farms a lot of acreage around the county, though, and has crops elsewhere. Still, not planting here and at Hubby’s cousin’s farm is a chunk of $$$ he won’t make this year. The wheat was supposed to be extra cash.
Gotta be a gambler to be a farmer.

I have never tolerated the heat well either, so I feel your pain. As a [former] redhead, I burned faster than anyone, and when I get hot, my face turns bright red. It’s very uncomfortable. I’d have to wait till 9 or 10. I mean, it’s still 90 degrees here at 1am. 🌡. Ugh!
I think Dusty knew that wheat was doomed when it didn’t grow as fast as it should have. But you sure did enjoy it’s greenness when it was really needed to cheer you up. Sort of like the sunflowers have made me smile in spite of the furnace they are growing in. 🌻
