Trump Dominates the GOP Field, but Consistently Fails in Head-to-Head Polling Against Biden
Redstate ^ | June 26, 2023 | Joe Cunningham

There is no denying that Donald Trump still holds the most sway over the Republican base. He is a former president, he is still (in their eyes) being persecuted unfairly by the Democrats and the Biden administration, and he is certainly an attention-grabber.

But there is a major difference between dominating a primary and winning a general election, and the most recent polling seems to show that, for all his support among Republicans, Trump is still not yet favored over Joe Biden in a “Devil You Know vs. Another Devil You Know” election fight.

On Sunday, NBC News released its latest poll on the 2024 election, and the numbers are fairly consistent with what we’ve seen – that Trump is a dominant force in the GOP, but the American public at large is still very hesitant where the former president is concerned. This is the same poll, mind you, that shows nearly three-quarters of Americans think the country is on the wrong track. So if Trump is still struggling to overcome that, well… things aren’t great.

In the NBC poll all Trump supporters were touting yesterday that had him leading DeSantis by 29 points, it also showed Trump being trounced by Biden among independent voters and losing to Biden by 4 in the general election.

I remember Mike Dukakis had a double digit lead on Bush 41. How’d that work out?

all polls using categories such as dems and pubs are in denial
the parties have realigned...
r and d are false dichotomies.

its primarily Christian conservatives versus anti-Christian rainbow coalition.. and there are more of them in positions of deep state POWER than there are of us numerically.

we need the author of all salvation... to quantum event us... from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of his dear son. we need a Gideon level intervention.

“Having Trump on the ticket will lose the White House, and both houses of Congress. The Dems will paint every GOP candidate as a MAGA Republican.”

Trump ran as a MAGA Republican in 2020 and won more votes than any other incumbent president in history.

Now we are all patient, so will you kindly square that fact with your assertion that voters are repulsed by MAGA candidates?

However, if you honestly believe that Biden got 81 million votes when he could not gather 50 people at the few campaign appearances he made, then you are beyond any help.

100 million votes or a friendly judge, of whom they have legions. A friendly judge who will declare Trump ineligible.
Ineligible because of some obscure law somewhere. Maybe even in some place like Timbuktu.
Then Trump will be tied up fighting the ruling until he is 90 or dead.

Yes. A water-carrier for the Bush-Romney-McConnell Wing of the GOP.

Here is the biggest complaint I have with all the pollsters and pundits about handicapping the 2024 election...

It mattered when votes mattered. Joe Biden has no qualities but for the real kooky Left. I don’t want to waste time going over his failures, falls, scandals and economic woes.

Polls are not relevant becasue of two things:

1. The Dem cheat machine is at every corner from the computers to the USPS, to the ballot boxes to the media. Joe said it best, they have the most extensive vote fraud operation in history.

2. Less important than #1 but McConnnell will sandbag MAGA candidates and push RINO’s. He wants UniParty rule and unless its a Cheney or Kinzinger (super unpopular and DOA), he will not push to win in certain races.

All this pseudo-intellectual pontificating and DeSantis endorsing is a joke. Trump wins with a fair election. Sadly, we do not have those, if we ever did since Hussein.

I voted for the man three times.

I can acknowledge that Trump has unfairly been subjected to a different standard than Democrats are under the same circumstances and still be sick of the endless drama and self-sabotage.

No, Trump is on his way out

LOL, sure he is. Your only problem is that Trump is more popular now then he has ever been. Add to that, his supporters are devoted to MEGA. Sucks to be you I guess.

Almost like a plan or something. THEY will NEVER allow an outsider in to the oval office again. No matter what it takes.

So then you don’t believe Trump is 29 points ahead of Desantis either? Or do you just not believe the parts you don’t like?

National polls are useless in a presidential election. It is all about a few key states.

I find it amazing that the ability to read, foreknow, and comprehend intimately entire segments of the population, such as Independents, actually Americans in general, etc., occurs only in the minds of people who hate Trump. I mean, they know with surety and grandiosity. To borrow a phrase, they are always wrong but never in doubt.

Trump accomplished more for America in one 4yr term than any President in your lifetime

Only the portions of wall and Abraham Accords are semi-permanent.

Everything else Trump did was by executive order or will expire soon. He did not create something legislatively permanent.

And please spare me the excuses of everyone gave Trump bad advice and everyone is against Trump.

Trump alleges he is the master negotiator. Well, he is not.

The MAGA agenda is exactly what this nations needs to get back on track. So perhaps it is the MAGA agenda that needs to be sold to the public with appropriate explanations on why it is needed.

There has to be someone out there, right of center, who is not 15 years past retirement age.

You've been shilling for romney since last year. I don't know why you don't just come out and say it.
