As Congressman, DeSantis Would Call Trump ‘An Idiot.’

The Governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, called Donald Trump ‘an idiot’ before relying on the former President to get him elected as the Governor of Florida in 2018, according to a feature piece published on Ron and his wife Jill “Casey” DeSantis.
During his unremarkable, five-year stint as a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives between 2013 and 2018, DeSantis would spend his time talking to his staff about “the Constitution, baseball, and golf.”
The only times DeSantis joked around with his former staffers were apparently at Trump’s expense: “The one thing they joked about, the former staffer said, was Trump.”
“Ron always said this guy was just an idiot.”
Despite this, Governor DeSantis went on to beg for Trump’s endorsement in the run-up to the Florida gubernatorial election in November 2018, meeting the former President “with tears in his eyes” before asking for “a favor.”
The full feature, which has been described as a “hit piece” by Ron DeSantis’s staffers, can be read here. The campaign, nor the Governor, have denied the allegations.

One of the things I find so interesting about all things DeSantis is, no one mentions the hand he’s playing.
Republicans have complete control of the state. I think there were what, 3 counties that went for Crist.
A high school, Young Republican, could do a lot with all those folks behind them.

Trump is an idiot. Otherwise he wouldn’t say (or do) those unnecessary things that turn off the very people he needs to win an election. Trump is his own worst enemy. It’s why we are stuck with dementia Joe and the lavender mafia.
