Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said an effort to impeach President Biden now lacking due process would be “dead on arrival” in the Senate.
Graham said during a Friday appearance on “The Hill” on NewsNation that Republicans argued that Democrats did not give former President Trump the right to due process during the impeachment proceedings against him in 2019 and 2021, and he does not believe anyone should be impeached without a hearing being held.

When did Trump get Due Process? Graham is a useless self serving coward.
It was dead anyway even with due process. The Democrats are not voting guilty no matter what and a majority of the liberal GOP eunuchs’ will vote with their good friends across the aisle.
We have no representation in this government period. There is no 2 party system and they parties do what the unelected 4th branch of government the bureaucracy lets them. The judicial branch will be ignored until any relatively conservative judges can be replaced.
Impeachment is not happening no matter the damning facts presented.
“Wait a minute, you say due process starts in the House, like in a grand jury, yet in a grand jury only one side is presented. How is that due process?’
The House investigates and charges. Very similar to a grand jury. However, historically (until Trump) the impeachment procession the House differed from a grand jury in that the target of the investigation was permitted to see the evidence and respond. There were open hearings on the evidence where testimony under oath occurred and documentary evidence was made public. Members of the House, advocating for the public official under investigation, were able to cross examine witnesses as in a formal trial. In addition, attorneys for the official under investigation were involved in the process.
The House makes its own rules and does not have to provide due process protection during the impeachment process. However, until Pelosi and the Democrats decided to impeach Trump without due process, impeachments by the House were serious matters that respected the Constitutional guarantees of due process.
Graham appears to be making the case we need to return to a process where due process rights are respected in the House and not simply deny Biden the historical due process protections as payback for what Pelosi and the Democrats did to Trump.
I agree with this point of view. If Republicans respect the Constitution, and our nation’s history, they should resist the temptation to deny Biden the due process during a House impeachment investigation. To join the Democrats in denying due process accomplishes nothing of benefit to the Republic. If Republicans want to return to respecting the Constitution, and the long history of impeachments protecting due process, Republicans need to walk the talk. Have a public investigation with witnesses and the evidence shown in the light of day. Let Democrats cross examine witnesses and bring their own witnesses. If the case against is sound, it will withstand the partisan political attacks and verbal spin.
The country is on the precipice. Federal agencies are spying on citizens, conducting early morning SWAT raids on the homes of people who represent no threat, law fare is commonly used to force convictions, and many January 6 participants have been jailed for 2 years without due process. If Republicans conduct the Biden impeachment in the same way Pelosi conducted the Trump impeachments, the only thing accomplished will be endorsing the death of the republic and its replacement with a totalitarian state.
.
It’s just a coincidence that when Republicans controlled the Senate, Graham ran to cameras and said Hunter’s Laptop couldn’t be trusted and he suspected it was Russian Disinformation - and now he wants the House to put off an Impeachment Vote on a man he says that he loves?
We know Lindsey always claims higher morals when he protects Dems and follows his Deep State Masters.
.
I have never sent a cent to the RNC
I say follow the money, linda is in on it and so are everyone who protects the billions going to the Ukraine laundry machine
“the only thing accomplished will be endorsing the death of the republic and its replacement with a totalitarian state.”
You apparently don’t realize that we are in a state of war and we are living NOW in a totalitarian state. This fact should be obvious for the reasons you cited in your last paragraph.
The 2024 election will be the last election in this country if the democrats get their way, no Constitution, no rule book and no historical reasons will stop them because they care about one thing and one thing only and that is the elimination of the Republican party. They even tell us that to our face yet there are many that ignore it and just don’t believe the democrats are that evil.
The Republican party is ruled by so many ‘Neville Chamberlain’ types it is sickening. McConnell, Graham, Cornyn, Romney, McCarthy and over 100 House members that believe like yourself that going to war with one hand tied behind your back is the honorable way and that ROE’s must be adhered to. This same attitude caused all the problems that President Trump incurred during his presidency, the Republicans refused to get their hands dirty and in fact most of them just rolled over and played dead.
So go ahead and play by the rules and after the rats win in 2024 and start tearing down the Supreme Court and rewriting the Constitution please be sure to tell them how wrong they are if you dare.
I am surprised and disappointed in that question on a conservative portal. The centrality of marriage as an institution in a civilization should be conceded at least by conservatives. If our representatives have given up on this institution, then what does that say about our side?
I don’t understand your comment.
Who is giving up on the institution of marriage or the centrality of marriage?
Are we saying everyone is required to be married, in order to be a good conservative?
Please respond if you like, because I really don’t understand the point you’re trying to make.
