More than 150 Starbucks stores with 3,500 workers are set to go on strike next week after a union representing the baristas claimed the company ordered them to take down Pride decorations.
The Starbucks Workers United union previously accused the coffee giant of caving into backlash and failing 'to materially support the LGBTQ+ community' earlier this month.
It said executives had 'banned' stores from displaying rainbow flags and decorations halfway through Pride Month.
Starbucks strongly denied the allegations and hit out at the 'false information that is being spread'.
But the union, which represents over 41,000 workers across more than 325 stores, announced on Friday that workers across America will strike over the 'hypocritical treatment of LGBTQIA+ workers'.
The Starbucks Workers United union took to Twitter to announce the latest strike action which will begin at the company's Seattle Roastery - located just nine blocks from Starbucks' first ever store at the Pike Place Market.
'STRIKE WITH PRIDE! Seattle Roastery leads nationwide Starbucks strike over Starbucks’ hypocritical treatment of LGBTQIA+ workers,' it wrote.
'Over 150+ stores and 3,500 workers will be on strike over the course of the next week.'
More stores are voting on whether to strike so this could rise to nearly 200 by the end of the week.

“Convenience store coffee is better than Starbucks, and a lot less expensive....”
Actually MacDonalds is way better.
Also have you tried Taco Bell’s coffee? It is really good! It has cinnamon in it, cost about $3.00 where I live but comes in a rather large cup. I saw it on the menu so thought I’d give it a try. Was worth it.
thats liberals fighting among themselves, I like that
“The fact that folks actually line up for this over-priced swill is astounding.”
*************
It is, but brillant how the company figured out how to add cachet to a simple cup of coffee. The brand loyalty, despite the price, is something to behold.
That said, its interesting to watch the woke employees turn against the woke company.
You can’t treat them like normal people they think they’re special

Revolutionaries always turn against each other, eventually.
‘hypocritical treatment of LGBTQIA+ workers’.
Good Lord...management says “no political flags in our stores” and the alphabet people all get their panties in a wad.
These have to be the same people who threw tantrums as children when mom said “No, you cannot have your dessert before dinner.”
Question: Is the 7-Eleven worker friendly with his slight Indian accent? (asked in my best Joe Biden voice)
“liberals fighting among themselves, I like that”
Liberals want to boil the frog.
Radicals want to light it on fire.
Who in their right mind buys Starbucks coffee? Overpriced drivel.
Cool- another woke company on their way to bankruptcy
So... going on strike to gain the right to groom children while at work.
Accept their resignations by not showing up to work and hire replacements. The company sells coffee, employees work to serve it. It is not their call to tell the company to support homosexual politics or not.
They really have Starbucks over a barrel. It will be hard to find people with the right skills to mix a cup of coffee to replace them.
Exactly- just like Bud lite- who drinks that crap??
My first awareness of Starbucks years ago, was hearing that yuppies go there.
I don’t know if that stereotype still holds true.
But if Starbucks had a reputation as a place for upscale people to go, that could explain why so many are willing to go there, and pay more for a product they could get for Less elsewhere.
> Hire “scabs”? I think that is what they are called? <
Some states have a law that says striking union workers must be given their jobs back once the strike is over. So replacement workers are only temporary workers. Not much of an incentive to apply for that kind of job.
It’s a really bad law, as it wrecks the level playing field between management and labor.
It’s the cup with the name on it that costs $5.. show off who the person is.
One time my daughter wanted a certain kind/name jeans at a certain store in the mall.. with the bag with the name of the shop on it. Kmart had the exact same jeans for $10 less and I refused to buy the ones in the mall. We went to Kmart.
Of course she was not happy.. but here we are some years later.. she remembers and what was so important then, does not matter now.
There are probably about the same number of skin-heads in this country as there are LGBTQRSTU’S, so I think it would be fitting if they demanded that flags with swastikas be displayed on the appropriate days.

They are called “Temp agencies” they make millions sending out temporary workers.
To be protected striking union workers, the strike has to be lawful. The cause of the strike must be for a cause identifiable in the contract or the contract expired.
I can't see this strike as being lawful.
Failing to materially support LBGTQ can hardly be considered an adverse working condition.
