John Eastman, the Trump-allied lawyer who created a memo arguing that then-Vice President Mike Pence could overturn Joe Biden’s 2020 election win, is set to face disciplinary hearings starting Tuesday in Los Angeles.
The counsel for the State Bar of California is asking a court to revoke Eastman’s license to practice law in the state. Eastman faces 11 disciplinary charges for allegations that he engaged in a plot to push a far-fetched legal strategy for Pence to overturn Biden’s electoral victory during the certification of Electoral College votes by a joint session of Congress on Jan. 6, 2021. Prosecutors alleged that Eastman made false and misleading statements with his baseless claims of widespread election fraud, including his remarks at the “Stop the Steal” rally on the Ellipse shortly before the Capitol attack.
The disciplinary hearings before the State Bar Court seeking Eastman’s disbarment is expected to last at least eight days. The court will determine whether Eastman’s conduct qualifies for recommendation of a suspension or revocation of his law license. The fate of Eastman’s law license then falls into the hands of the California Supreme Court.
The State Bar announced an ethics investigation into Eastman’s conduct in March last year. Eastman faces multiple charges that he allegedly violated the state’s business and professions code by making false and misleading statements that constitute acts of “moral turpitude, dishonesty, and corruption.” Eastman therefore “violated this duty in furtherance of an attempt to usurp the will of the American people and overturn election results for the highest office in the land — an egregious and unprecedented attack on our democracy — for which he must be held accountable,” the State Bar's chief trial counsel, George Cardona, said in a release in January.

He’s gotten the memo he’s not in “the club.”
When you attack, and charge anyone who questions the outcome of an election, you are yourself conducting election interference. People have a right to know the truth about election fraud whenever and wherever it occurs. By trying to silence people, and stop them from asking questions, they are aiding and abetting the fraud that occurred.
Noticing it and calling it out is.
Are they going to charge the lawyers who did the same during Bush/Gore? Trump/Clinton?
That is why they WIN, and our losers LOSE. That is why they have likely won for the LAST time, and we STILL will not do anything about it.
Dump the First Amendment eh? I was a Special Investigator for the State Bar of California. Many times cases of outrageous speech (not so in this case) were dropped due to freedom of speech. Glad I’m not there anymore.
“charges for allegations that he engaged in a plot to push a far-fetched legal strategy”
I remember when it was an attorney’s job, no, their duty to do their best to represent their client’s interests, even if that meant pursuing a “far-fetched legal strategy”.
John Eastman is brilliant. Asking him to stop working as a lawyer is silly and weak.
Let’s see….
Two DOJ lawyers hide evidence that would have helped Ted Stevens. Not only did they not get disbarred, no prosecution, they sued and got backpay for the days they were suspended.
Clinesmith lies on warrant applications, committing perjury, gets probation/time served and does not lose his license. Judge said the probation was punishment enough.
Question: is the state bar association of California a communist organization? Just curious!
Question: is the state bar association of California a communist organization?
Once again, the Deep State-led DOJ corruptly goes to their financially debilitating lawfare fear porn in two-tiered fashion!
No reasonably thinking person should want to live under their system.
Actually, we’re not sure anymore - but at least we know where the bear defecates.

This banana republic is done.
Plan accordingly.
Excellent point. I will try to remember it. Thanks!
You ain’t wrong.
