It regularly happens that I’ll strike on the seed of an idea for a column that attempts to connect the current news cycle with an analogous event from history, only to discover that the anniversary of that past milepost falls on or near my deadline. I always take this as a sign from a beneficent universe that I am on solid journalistic footing.
And so it was last week as I was reading the section of the 44-page federal indictment of former President Donald J. Trump that dealt with the fateful July 2021 meeting in Bedminster, N.J., between Trump and the ghostwriters who were working on the memoir of his former chief of staff, Mark Meadows. (Their work product, “The Chief’s Chief,” was described by Kirkus Reviews as “a Trump idolator’s dream book. Everyone else should stay far away.”)

Hahaha
Given the years of Democrats making stuff up, knowingly lying to advance their narratives, why should anyone believe the same isn’t happening now?
Trump outs Casey Seiler as just another fabulist scribbler Fascist for the Media.
Casey Seiler is the Times Union’s editor. He previously served as managing editor, Capitol Bureau chief and entertainment editor.
didn’t the president say if you don’t fire that sonofabitch you can kiss that billion dollars good bye... and sonofabitch, he was fired... oh that was the wrong president...
Trump as President could do whatever the heck he wanted with those “secret” documents. If he chose to show them to somebody, then they implicitly became unclassified. When he said they were still secret, they became secret again. Pretty simple.
The activities described in the Durham report make Watergate look like kid stuff. But that is all being ignored now because of Jack Smith.
Yes, forgetting the real scum, John Dean’s motive for turning on Nixon— the photos of his former hooker wife were still in the evidence (the catalog seized from DNC- a catalog of a menu of whores they “backed” and booked). Truth in the Kolodny book. No doubt. And the actions of Sen. Baker- utter bull- they had nothing. So we got Gerald Ford——oops!
That is a keeper. Align this with the new “4th Branch” self created Intelligence Branch that answers to no one- but WILL soon! They align lefty NARA manager with their own incompetence and try to manipulate the Presidential Records Act— which is mentioned nowhere in the “indictment” btw. Because there is no crime to indict, certainly not 1917 Pres. Wilson Espionage Act never described as being for future Presidents. No way.
.
If the underlying system is Corrupt (Hillary didn’t commit Obstruction) - then no good person can support this railroading.
.
Very simple.
Look at the consequences of their having arrested a former president and current front runner opposition candidate
Did the FBI/DOJ lie to the Grand Jury to get the indictment?
Of course, they did. Prove to me that we should accept their word on anything.
The author of this hit piece evidently wrote his own bio albeit in the third person.
He lives in Albany’s lovely Pine Hills.
The word lovely is a giveaway.
He’s one those alphabeters.
All the alphabeters hate Trump.
Sounds like this dildo Seiler doesn’t understand the concept of “a smoking gun”. I doubt it means a gun that somebody is trying to set on fire.
Yep.
now they need to do Biden.
I’m not so sure they won’t.
Nixon did nothing wrong. The claim that officers of the Executive Branch were, or should be, “independent” was wrong then and it’s wrong now.
