North Carolina Speaker of the House Tim Moore used his position to advance a deviant sexual relationship with a state employee, according to a lawsuit filed in Wake County.
Speaker Tim Moore is at the center of the scandal primarily because of the allegation that he had an affair with an at-will state employee named Jamie Lassiter.
The plaintiff, Scott Lassiter, filed the lawsuit under a North Carolina law known as ‘Alienation of Affection,” a law typically on the books in more conservative, Christian states in the south that has fallen out of favor in many places.
In North Carolina, plaintiffs such as Scott Lassiter can recover both economic and non-economic damages from someone like Tim Moore if he is found to have interfered with a loving marriage.
If it bears out that Liles Lassiter was in fact coerced into participating in group sex with Tim Moore, who used his power to make that happen, the damages owed to Scott Lassiter could be significant.

In the past, I've been appalled at such allegations, but I've now become cynical and thus doubtful of such accusations.
“ who used his power to make that happen…”
That’s the kind of moral backbone that makes America great.
When it comes to things like group sex, participants don’t want unwilling people joining in. There are plenty of very willing folks happy to swim in that pool.
Perverted elected officials. Sad when they are Republicans. Reminds me of Hastert and others. Hypocrits.
All the speaker has to do is to include group sex in with the LGBTQ+ community and it would be deemed legal and unassailable..
We’d get: LGBTQ-GS+
Hey, pedophilia is getting ready to be included into the community, so why not group sex too?
This crap happens when people are elected, re-elected & re-elected & re-elected, etc. Doesn’t matter what party. A decade is enough!
all those thank you notes! oy!
“Speaker Tim Moore is at the center of the scandal primarily because of the allegation that he had an affair with an at-will state employee named Jamie Lassiter.”
“If it bears out that Liles Lassiter was in fact coerced into participating in group sex with Tim Moore”
Got me confused as heck there. Two different names.
Another greasy RINO POS.
Another “Wide Stance” Republican?
What good are all the policies and laws against "sexual harassment"?
aha, a real website says they’re both her names, first and middle:

I hate these blogs that just post stuff whether it makes sense or not. Scott is the husband who has standing to sue under this law.
So Scott Lassiter finds out that his wife is having an affair including “group sex”, only to learn from his wife that she was coerced! Yeah, that’s the ticket, she was forced to cheat... I guess the plaintiff can call all the other group sexers as witnesses.
If not for the pic then you would not able to tell if we are talking about a male or female here. In this day and age one can’t assume anything.
Note to those considering a run for public office. The Mike Pence rule, never be alone in a room with a woman who isn’t your wife, has considerable merit in 21st Century politics, particularly if your are a Republican.
Agree!
I don’t think even being unmarried will protect you.
I know I wasn’t invited.
“a law typically on the books in more conservative, Christian states in the south that has fallen out of favor in many places.”
Lol. How dare any State get in the way of adultery and cheating? They need to be more progressive like California and encourage such things that us media scum are into. Rotfl.
That rule should also apply to those of us not in public office.
