U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland is scheduled to be in Minneapolis Friday to announce the results of an extensive investigation into the city's police department — particularly officers’ use of force. The probe is widely expected to result in long-term federal court oversight of the MPD.
In April of 2021, the day after a Hennepin County jury convicted former police officer Derek Chauvin of murdering George Floyd, Attorney General Merrick Garland announced that the Justice Department would take a close look at the Minneapolis Police Department’s policies, training, supervision, and its use of force.
For more than two years, Justice Department staff interviewed police, city officials and people who’ve alleged mistreatment at the hands of officers. Investigators did not focus on a single incident; instead they took a systemic look at MPD to determine whether officers are violating citizens’ Constitutional rights.

Take over the MPD...watch this as a trial run...
this is a continuation of Obama's/Holders power grab and control of all police in the USA.
Its why the brown-shirts of BLM were formed and sent into America's streets

I think we already know what the results of the investigation will be. White cops bad, minority criminals good.
Minneapolis has become such a shithole, and it’s only going to get worse.
Some police officers must’ve expressed support for Trump.
Anyone who cares about their family's personal safety should exit Minnesomalia with extreme haste.
If you want to know what's going to happen to Minneapolis, look at Chicago, who's police deparment has been under a consent decree for almost 20 (?) years.
For reference: HeyJackass.Com illustrating Chicago "values".
The City of Minneapolis has been run exclusively by liberal Democrats (Democrat Farmer Labor Party in local parlance) for more than forty years and the police department has been governed by these “enlightened” leftist policies. One would think given this history that Minneapolis would be a paradise with the most caring and compassionate police force imaginable. If this investigation were to truthfully look at the Minneapolis PD it will show the typical effects of failed leftist policies and social experiments
It’s already at the point where good people don’t want to be cops anymore in these big Rat-Run cities.
"Well that sounds very stylish."
Yeah, the city is about to become unlivable for civilized people.
No cop should work in a majority black city. Or a city run by democrats. Let their s holes burn. These places are violent dumps because they want it that way.
“Yeah, the city is about to become unlivable for civilized people.”
Like all Dem run hellholes.
Leftists took a stunningly beautiful and civilized city and turned it into a dumpster fire.
Now they want to burn the ashes.
It was like that before the pandemic, in Chicago. Lori Lightfood made it worse, then the pandemic hit and made it still worse, and then Brandon Johnson (even more progressive dipshit than Lori Lightfoot) got elected and Chicago Cops are retiring en masse.
Progressive politics destroys law & order and that's obviously its intent.
Saul Alinsky.
Why do they still have any active officers in that department when so many Southern departments are hiring?
Absolutely. The liberals dream come true, federalization of law enforcement. The cities and police themselves will love it! Federal benefits, retirement, all the goodies. It will be called, The George Floyd Act.
As a side note, is Garland doing a DOJ investigation regarding the beating death of the black man Tyre Nichols in Memphis or is this off limits because it was four black policemen who beat him to death?
